24 Sep 2024 (Magnus Greel)
Late afternoon to early evening, quiet as expected for a midweek visit but pleased to find the one cask ale available was in top form.
Romney Marsh - Marsh Gold | 4.10 | | Rich and gold in flavour, fresh orange hop & subtle chocolate flavours |
06 Jun 2024 (Magnus Greel)
Early evening and fairly quiet subdued and relaxed atmosphere with a few groups dotted about.
Romney Marsh - Amber Ale | 4.20 | | Always encouraging to see a local brewery supported here. |
30 Jan 2024 (Magnus Greel)
Very quiet just a couple of others in so time for a swift pint before our 14.26 bus to Tenterden.
Romney Marsh - Best Bitter | 4.00 | | Lifeless brown water... |
14 Nov 2023 (Magnus Greel)
Not too busy for a mid weekday evening, I joined a couple of friends after my convoluted bus journey from Tenterden taking nearly double the alotted time due to various road closures necessitating diversions in the Woodchurch area owing to flooding.
Romney Marsh - Marsh Midnight | 4.50 | | A well-hopped, fruity and deliciously dark seasonal ale, blending a total of nine different grains. Crystal, brown and chocolate malts, plus roasted barley, give this beer a deep, reddish-brown hue. Wheat and flaked oats offer a smooth creaminess. |
18 Jul 2023 (Magnus Greel)
I met up with a couple of friends around 14.00 before heading off to the Hbf for our train to Sturry. Very quiet just a few others in enjoying a late lunch and a beer or 2..
Canterbury Ales (sometimes badged as Canterbrew) - The Wife of Bath's Ale | 3.90 | | The solitary handpump in a sea of designer 'craft beers' was well looked after and didn't disappoint. I had to have another to make sure - at just £3.50 per pint am sure would appeal to the thrifty minded! |
25 Nov 2022 (Magnus Greel)
We arrrived about an hour before the England Vs USA game and it was already heaving with bouncers arriving shortly after to sensibly limit the amount of folk entering. A most enjoyable and friendly stay with no hassle and good spirits amongst all. The last sort of place you'd expect ChrisE to like - apart from one solitary cask ale handpump which has produced surprisingly good quality ales so far and it didn't disappoint tonight.
Canterbury Ales (sometimes badged as Canterbrew) - Single Hop Ernest | 5.10 | | We decided to double up on our orders due to the wait at the bar so I tentatively ordered a pint of this and a pint a Beavertown keg Neck Oil as a backup in case this was rubbish. My fears were unjustified as this smoky peaty piney nectar was in top form and delicious and earned my loyalty for the duration of our stay. |
08 Mar 2022 (Magnus Greel)
Mid evening and busy with folk in for the Liverpool Inter Milan game, we stood at the end of the bar fiercely guarding the one hand pump available here.
Tiny Rebel - Peloton Pale | 4.20 | | Floral, grassy aroma with a subtle spicy lime flavour in top form. |
24 Feb 2022 (Magnus Greel)
Mid evening and busier than expected for a Thursday evening.
Tiny Rebel - Cwtch | 4.60 | | I wouldn't class this as beer - instead was a sickly sweet alcoholic syrup of figs and prune juice, not to my taste but in superb condition. |
03 Feb 2022 (ChrisE)
Quiet on a Thursday afternoon whilst waiting for the Made Inn to reopen after a period ofclosure.
Tiny Rebel - Peloton Pale | 4.20 | | Hazy with a hint of grapefruit. Not really my thing. |
20 Jan 2022 (Magnus Greel)
Busy early to mid evening with folk in for the Liverpool Vs Arsenal game. No cask beer on offer so I made do with necking down some oil...
