From the outside you ask, which door to enter by? I witnessed a few others just entering by one door into the old cottages-section of the pub and so opted for that one. A labyrinth of rooms making up this old pub on the inside in Warlingham and for my late afternoon visit and after visiting the recently opened micropub nearby. Very much a food-driven pub with a recently constructed barn/dining room in its rear. Attentive service at the bar where you do not sit at or stand at other than to be served.

Timothy Taylor - Landlord4.30GoodGood head and lacing and lasting on this Keighley brewery's pale ale, and based north-west of Bradford. A hoppy first hit. A slightly fruity-infused mouthfeel. A dry hoppiness lingering.

The pub is found in Warlingham, Surrey, CR6 9EG.

The White Lion, 3 Farleigh Road, became a pub from at least 1784 with records of all its innkeepers preserved from this time. The middle section was originally a farm house with attached cottages surviving from 1467. Replacing the original stable block is an extension on the right of the White Lion from around 1900. The inside is a mix of the original rooms and the new, with the old having very low doorways between rooms to be aware of and also comprising attractive fire places. The bar greets you as you come in through the old entrance, the former cottages, and continues in a back room and so not all the real ales are to be found at the front bar. CAMRA discounts apply on pints only of the 5 changing real ales. Food is available all day from 12 noon to 10pm. Dogs welcome in the old bar. CAMRA has given the pub the maximum three-star rating, denoting a pub interior of outstanding national historic importance.

We have visited this pub once, seen 5 different beers and tried 1 of them.
