After a disapponting vist to Wainscott our group decided to share a taxi to Upper Upnor. Money well spent. This is a delightful pub in a delightful location. Very attentive bar staff.

Swift lunchtime call. Quite busy, with mainly diners, among the many visitors out today, in this quaint village. Full range of Shep's mainstream and seasonal ales on. We sat in the large rear garden, with the pub ducks for company!

Lunchtime, I had a pint and a sandwich here. It was a nice sunny day and most people were outside enjoying the weather and views, but as this is a nice bar and is listed as being of Regional Importance on the Heritage Pubs site I thought it would be a shame not to enjoy the interior. Chatty and welcoming bar staff made me very welcome.

Shepherd Neame - Kent's Best4.10AcceptableI had been told that this beer was discontinued but it seems to be a best seller here. My pint was a bit disappointing though.

I was going to go in the Kings Arms but I got its opening times wrong and had an hour to kill so I came here first. Lucky I had got the time mixed up as this was a lovely pub. The front bar was quite small with a central bar. I sat on a high stool at a high table under the front window and stared across ancient admiralty houses and a spreading walnut tree to the Medway.
