GRRR I’d forgotten about my visit here 3 years ago. Sunny Saturday afternoon and my wife wanted a drink so I suggested this. Still 14 taps and no real ale. Radio on as well as TVs with the sound up, I hate that. No customers at all inside. We had two (flat) colas and sat in the street with 3 other customers. I won’t be back (until it changes hands).

BAD NEWS - despite 14 taps now this pub no longer serves cask ale. Has gone from a sister pub of the Foundry to no real ale in a few years - very disappointing as it used to have a lot of character. At least 4 TV screens showing live football - plenty of customers, mostly gawping at the screens. I didn’t linger for more than a swift half.
Sharp's - Atlantic Pale Ale | 4.20 | | Keg version. |

Mid afternoon - swift half between shops. The pub is definitely open again but has been taken over by a new owner and is no longer associated with the Foundry. The layout is the same but the walls are now decked out in tin signs, many of them US number plates. The music was quite loud and had a Country and Western feel. Beer £4.50 a pint.
Sharp's - Sea Fury | 5.00 | | Despite being assured by the barman that the real ales were very cool - this wasn’t. Glad I only went for a half. |

Done up for Halloween. A lady with a home countries accent asked her companion what "Mac and Cheese" was and then expressed horror at the explaination.
Canterbury Brewers - Foundry Torpedo | 4.50 | | Spot on (if a little more ruby flavoured and slightly less hippy than I recall) |
Canterbury Brewers - Foundry Man's Gold | 4.00 | Not Tried | |

Mid evening, quiet. but a very good welcome from the barman who ingratiated himself with my wife by samples of the unusual ciders on - a warm mulled dry cider with cinnamon and a toffee-apple flavoured offering. I stuck with the rather good beer selection.
Canterbury Brewers - Foundry Man's Gold | 4.00 | | Spot on. |
Canterbury Brewers - Little Red Rye | 4.50 | | A cheek sucking bitterness in excellent condition. |
