A presentation night for two 2013 CAMRA awards. The Eleanor is the East London & City Branch ‘Community Pub of the Year’ and also joint winner of the ‘East London Pub of the Year’ (an award shared with the Pride of Spitalfields, E1). A good crowd in for the occasion.

Late-evening visit with a CAMRA group. We are around 16-strong and more than double the number of people in the pub. A nice, cosy, friendly atmosphere.

Tring - Side Pocket for a Toad3.60Good
Oakham - Inferno4.00GoodA very pale beer. Sharp and well-hopped.

My first visit here, and I was impressed. I had to ask directions on my way, and was told "he only wants yuppies in there" fortunately this advice was wrong. I had a good chat with the landlord about Shepherd Neame beers, and the recently opened Westfield shopping centre at Stratford.
