Comfortably busy on an infrequent mid week visit: we'd come for a family meal.I had been here years ago, way before the fire-I don't remember much about it, but it retains a familiar prosperous atmosphere.

29 Oct 2014 (Philip Pirrip)
Evening. Hoping to find some local ales here but overall a bad experience. Just one friendly barman serving and trying to cope with restaurant drinks orders and bar customers leading to long 7 minute wait to get served and several others even longer. Someone should have come to help him.
Harvey's - Sussex Best Bitter | 4.00 | | A respite from the poorer ales |
Old Dairy (being contract brewed after it closed) - Blue Top | 4.80 | | Just about acceptable. Very tired pint |
Pig & Porter - Strangely Brown | 4.40 | | Strangely sour I'd say. Swapped out without question |

The beer line up looked good peering through the window. We sat in the garden. Pleasant if a little impersonal.
