I got here for opening and got a table. Various Ratebeer type people turned up during the day. Some good English stuff to begin with, but I had to go and see Olaf and have some of his stuff that he brought over from Germany.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Thornbridge / Thornbridge Hall - Jaipur5.90ExcellentI love this beer. Great grapefruity hop.
Oakham - JHB3.80GoodBit soapy, but rather good.
Bank Top - Dark Mild4.00GoodDark ruby with lasting bubbly beige head. Mild aroma, some choc. Rather a nice dark mild aroma. Bit of tarryness. Decent in mouth, some dark fruits, a little choc powder. Good dark mild with a good fruit/choc mix. I can see why it gets some solid scores.
Moor - Peat Porter4.40GoodBlack with ruby/brown edges. Looks in good condition. Lasting dark beige head. Slightly sour aroma. Bit of charcoal, some nice fruit. Nice choc. Really nice porter actually. Decent choc. Nice bit of fruit and a roasty finish.
Bristol Beer Factory - No. 74.20AcceptableChestnut with lasting beige head. Looks in good nick. That’s alright. It’s a best bitter, decent berry fruit. It’s actually pretty good considering the 4 beers that went before. Mind you I did get bored with the English beers after this one and went onto the Germans.
Hobden's Wessex - Naughton's Ferret3.50AcceptableChestnut with thin beige head. It’s a pretty light in flavour session bitter. Some hop, some white stone fruit. Malt is fine. But you can’t expect much, but what there is, is pretty solid.
Wensleydale - Forester's Session Bitter3.70AcceptableGold with very thin beige head. Aromatic, floral hop aroma, touch of butter/caramel. Hardish flinty water in the mouth. Bit of tea like flavour. Quite a flavourfull session bitter but on the buttery side which I don’t like.
Salopian - Hop Twister4.50AcceptablePale gold, lasting off white head. Nettle, banana, peach and something else I can’t place. Really aromatic. Decent condition in the mouth. Real rose petal/banana on end, bit oxydised. Flavoursome though.
Wensleydale - Coverdale Poacher IPA5.00AcceptableGold, looks like a lger. Thin ivory head. Grassy hop aroma, some butter. It’s alright, some tea, some astringency. Decent grassy hop, but would expect more.
Quartz - Blonde3.80PoorGold with thin beige head. Some faint hop on aroma. OK in mouth. Some rose petal, no real hop on end. Dullish, but not unpleasant.

The pub is found in Battersea, Greater London, SW11 5TN.

In the same location as usual. Nice enough hall with more seating downstairs along with the cider and perry stand. The Polish food looked and smelled good. Foreign beer stand as per usual was excellent. UK beers not all on at the same time, but still a decent range.

We have visited this pub once, seen 10 different beers and tried them all.
