Afternoon visit, we occupied the garden area at the rear. All cask ales here seem to be £5 per pint now but at least they had a good selection of beers all in good condition. I have not listed all the beers that were available.

Thornbridge / Thornbridge Hall - Lord Marples4.00ExcellentExcellent, I had several of these.

Afternoon visit from 3pm opening (well just before that actually) for a regular meeting with a group of friends. I really like this pub.
BeerABVScoreNotes

Big Hand - Bastion Best Bitter4.20GoodI was in the mood for the darker beers today so stuck to those advertised as Chestnut Best Bitters.

Busy from the start of 3pm opening. The pub's Cocker Spaniel looked very smart after its £60 hair do and must have been the envy of some visiting Labradors. The pub has had some minor alterations since my last visit which mean that the bar is no longer an island and you can only visit the lavatories from the right hand side of the bar, a bar billiards table has appeared on the left side.

Afternoon visit from 15:00 opening time. We were advised that beer prices will be increasing in June this year, apparently the first increase for two and a half years. The pub soon filled up and became quite busy.

Soon after 3pm opening and already a good gathering in here. Laurel and Hardy films were being shown on a large television screen although I don't think anybody was watching them.

I arrived a few minutes before opening time and was let in immediately. Several people informed me that the friendly pub dog is now famous for having switched on the local Christmas Lights, albeit with a bit of help from somebody holding his paw. I am very impressed with the beer quality here.

The busiest that I have seen this pub. The landlord complained that he only gets his delivery of London Drinker a few days before the next edition comes out, and is still waiting for the current one, however he is considering placing an advertisement in the magazine. I met a group of lads who told me that they had been up to Carnforth to do The Snug only to find that they were a day too late and it is temporarily closed for structural repairs.
