4 beers on plus loads of extra cans etc. Celebrating lynnes birthday. A pub crawl around Broadstairs and a Greek meal was requested so that's what she got.

5th and final visit of this outing to Broadstairs: As always for early evening, crammed but we found a bench seat in this micropub’s rear. Usual friendly, prompt service and another familiar face from the former Four Candles Alehouse appeared and to join the two who earlier appeared in what is now called Trigger’s Broom. One in our party had kept their birthday quiet but all was revealed by the governor in making his announcement to everyone here and a rousing chorus of Happy Birthday was duly rendered by all!

| Three Acre - Best Bitter | 4.00 | | Served with good head and lasting lacing on this amber-copper hued East Sussex bitter from the Blackboys’ microbrewery set up in 2018 and which grew out of a garden shed. A very fruited bitter first hit. A dry bitterness shining through from its use of traditional English hops with one variety in on the mix lending it, its caramel sweetness and additionally aided by its malts. A fruity hoppiness joining in. A dry bitterness sailing out ably complemented by its British malted grains providing an earthiness. Served in very good nick. |

First and last visit on a tour of Broadstairs with my daughter. Superb micro and thanks for the recommendation Dosser. We arrived just after noon but already a few other in. Very well kept beers and the best pub toilet art I’ve seen in a long while. Andy very informative and still working hard when we returned around 4:30 by which time the pub was bussing. Excellent.

7th visit of this outing to Broadstairs: As always packed and for our early evening visit is this awarding winning and very petite micropub and closest to Broadstairs Station. However, we timed it just right for a bench seat at the back and bumped into a few familiar faces from the now closed Four Candles just up the road and at this very table we were able to share. Usual prompt friendly service and a choice of 5 real ales on.

| Lakedown - Marquee - American Stout | 4.80 | | Head and lacing on being served but did not last on this rum barrel-aged American stout from Burwash, East Sussex, and on the family farm of actor and rock legend, Roger Daltrey, the co-founder and lead singer of the rock band, The Who. He co-founded Lakedown Brewing Company with his son, Jamie, and sons-in-law. A dark chocolatey and roasted coffee-infusion on its first bite. A dry smoky bitterness rising and accompanied by a subtle piney sweetness from its combination of Centennial and Golding hops. A sweet malty bitter note winning over from its blend of five grains including Extra Pale, Black and Chocolate. A dry hoppy bitterness playing out. Not holding its head and lacing and so perhaps towards the end but tasted fine. |

After 2 hours of freezing at gadds brewery we traded our tokens for cash, couldn't get any buses, good Friday and ended up in the S E. Poty. 5 real ales on, mostly at very reasonable prices.

4 beers on, and 2 changed while we were there. Lynne said when the beers were pulled upwards and dropped into position in the chiller it reminded her of the film we watched yesterday. Nuremberg.

7th visit of the outing: This little micro close to the station was packed to capacity for our early evening arrival but by no means entirely full of beer tourists. Only the four cyclists we earlier met in the Four Candles left to catch the train before our modest party of two followed them. Despite the busy situation here and standing room only, we were served seamlessly and without hesitation such is the staff's ability against the busy odds.

| Ramsgate Brewery (Gadds') - Little Cracker | 5.00 | | Clearly a firkin of this just-launched seasonal ruby ale from the local Ramsgate brewery had also managed to make its way here and just as I did but in my case on foot. Very good head presented and lacing lasting throughout. A dry hoppy first hit. A spicy hoppiness rising care of its mixture of the spicier Kent hops with the odd fruited note from the berries climbing up. A good degree of fruity bitterness playing out. |

8th visit of the outing: Busy as always for our early evening arrival but our party timed it just right for a table seating four. In true micropub tradition, it does not take many to fill it. Usual warm welcome and a speedy delivery of our chosen real ales.

| Newbarns - Henok's Mild (as spelt on its pumpclip) | 5.30 | | Head and lacing, minimal, and lasting, not able to. This Scottish mild from Edinburgh presented in its defence a fruited and bitter first hit. A malty bitterness rising with a hint of dark fruits and a touch of liquorice. A mildly sweet bitterness ambling downwards. Originally brewed at the start of 2024, it is a collaboration with Omnipollo, the brewery's closest pals from Stockholm and where it was first brewed. Certainly my first tasting of a Newbarns' brew as I recall. |

Micropub in The Broadway that opened on 9th September 2021 in former gift shop premises. Concentrates on real ales from geographically varied smaller breweries. It calls itself a coffee and alehouse. Cask ales and ciders are dispensed straight from their casks from a large walk-in glass fronted chilled cabinet. Subdued lighting here. Local CAMRA branch Pub of the Year 2023, 2024, 2025 and 2026.
