Lunchtime. I was pleasantly surprised about the decor here , although the ale choice was disappointing. Very much a cafe bar.

A few minutes before 15.00 closing the barmaid kindly served us with no hassle to drink up. I must endeavour to visit this place more often given its locality.

1140hrs and already fairly busy, 3 drinkers at the bar and two seated however the centre of the pub was a temporary creche with mother and noisy restless child. We decided to sit outside where it was quieter.

A morning visit with the daylight still searing my eyes. A bus tour for ChrisE's 17th leap year birthday celebrations. Extended since my last visit and no further developments towards getting the Sunshine Brewery up and running. The Guv worked hard servicing the multiple orders for beer from thirsty souls.

11:15 Arrived by London Transport RF organised by ChrisE to celebrate his 17th birthday. We filled the place. Of note was night owl Philip Pirrip blinking in the unaccustomed morning sunshine like a grumpy bear woken early from hibernation.

The pub is found in Smeeth, Kent, TN25 6SX.

Pub / café and (planned but never rose beyond trial brews - Sunshine Brewery) micro-brewery situated in Evegate Business Park close to the former Smeeth Halt railway station. Expanded in size into next door premises some time after opening. Not a Micropub due to enhanced food offering and recorded music often played. Simple good value sandwiches are a speciality and some hot food offering. Local businesses make great use of the food delivery service at lunchtimes. Real ales sold on gravity dispense with cold ice pack cooling left on top of casks. Early test brews of the Sunshine Brewery took taken in January 2015. Outside seating at the front. Changed hands and re-opened in September 2016. CAMRA local branch Pub of the Year 2024.

We have visited this pub 18 times, seen 29 different beers and tried 20 of them.
