Last pub of our trip to Sheffield, the good old Dev Cat. Steady crowd in for a monday night.
| Acorn - Bullion IPA | 5.00 | | Very easy drinking IPA, perhaps a little more subdued than I expected but delicious nonetheless. |
| Black Iris - Blackjack Mild | 4.10 | | Chocolatey mild, just a little lacking in flavour. |
14 Apr 2012 (Stephen Harris)
Plenty of are people using this pub as a pre-football match lunch and drinks venue – although travellers from London appear to outnumber the locals.
| Acorn - Magnum IPA | 5.00 | | Acorn are on to their second series of single-hopped IPAs. This one has a very bitter hop character. |
| Eagle (formerly Wells & Young's, formerly Charles Wells, formerly Wells) - Youngers No. 3 | 4.30 | | Now that Wells & Young’s own the Younger’s brands it is interesting to see that they have revived No. 3, probably the best-regarded Younger’s beer. Dark brown, sweet malt, a bit of roasted barley, bitter finish. |
| Kelham Island (probably brewed by Thornbridge now) - Pale Rider | 5.20 | Not Tried | |
| Oakwell - Barnsley Bitter | 3.80 | Not Tried | |
| Dark Star - Hophead was 3.8% (some has also been brewed by Fuller's) | 3.40 | Not Tried | |
| Thornbridge / Thornbridge Hall - Jaipur | 5.90 | Not Tried | |
| Phoenix - Arizona | 4.10 | Not Tried | |
| Dark Star - Original | 5.00 | Not Tried | |
| Bradfield - Farmers Blonde | 4.00 | Not Tried | |
| Abbeydale - Deception | 4.10 | Not Tried | |

This pub is a great compromise pub. Has the great beer but also attracts the young student types and has a buzzing atmosphere. Really busy tonight with a long wait at the bar for drinks, well worth it though.
| Acorn - Warrior IPA | 5.00 | | Very hoppy and extremely bitter IPA. I loved it but my mate found it just a tad bitter. |
| Crown - Stannington Stout | 5.00 | Not Tried | |
