Been a long time since I've been here. It's a nice walk from the train station and through Chilham to the pub. There were a handful of people in.
Canterbury Ales (sometimes badged as Canterbrew) - White Horse Summer Ale | 3.80 | | A nice toasted nut and grapefruit hop flavour. Certainly good enough for me to have 3 of them. |
Adnams - Broadside | 4.70 | Not Tried
Sharp's - Doom Bar | 4.00 | Not Tried
St Austell - Tribute | 4.20 | Not Tried

We stopped off here after our Kent b/f session. A truly delightful part of Kent that deserves more attention for another day. Plenty of tourists coming and going. And the pub itself was a real gem. (And not being a Shep's pub, I should of enquired as to why they were selling Master Brew here?).
Old Dairy (being contract brewed after it closed) - Red Top | 3.80 | | Two pints of this devoured. |
Old Dairy (being contract brewed after it closed) - Gold Top | 4.30
Shepherd Neame - Master Brew Bitter | 3.70 | Not Tried
St Austell - Tribute | 4.20 | Not Tried

Busy with people eating lunch;the first stop on our attempt at the Stour Valley Walk
Adnams - Southwold Bitter | 3.70 | | First out of the pump, but had that Adnams tang. |
Greene King - Ruddles Best (was 3.7%) | 3.40 | Not Tried

Although it was raining, the pub was still very full on a Sunday lunchtime. I got a lovely barrel chair by the real fire in the rear bar and sat reading my book, being happy.
Fuller's (part of Asahi Europe) - London Pride | 4.10 | | Getting towards the end of the barrel, I thought, ok bitter. |
Adnams - Southwold Bitter | 3.70 | | I don't remember it being this dark. Tasty, less yeasty than I remember, but still a decent bitter. |

I haven't been here for years which is a shame as this is such a pretty village. The pub is tucked away in the corner of the main square, opposite the manor house, just in front of the church. Central bar serves 3 rooms with a public bar at the rear, a side room and the main bar. Lighter colours in the main bar with a snug traditional feel in the rear bar.
Harvey's - Sussex Best Bitter | 4.00 | | Good character, typical Harvey's. Bit more malt than hoppy and I would happily drink this all night. |
Fuller's (part of Asahi Europe) - London Pride | 4.10 | Not Tried
Ramsgate Brewery (Gadds') - Seasider | 4.30 | Not Tried
Adnams - Southwold Bitter | 3.70 | Not Tried

Arrived about 9pm and there were a handfull of people in. It was quite smokey on one side of the bar but on the other it was a bit better and had the benefit of a loverly warming real fire.
Whitstable - East India Pale Ale (or EIPA) | 4.10 | | There was nothing wrong with this but I think it was near the end of the barrel. It had a quite deep and harsh bitterness to it and none of the usual flowery hop zing that a 'top of barrel' pint might have. Still, it was good to see it on. |
Eagle (formerly Wells & Young's, formerly Charles Wells, formerly Wells) - Wells Bombardier (now superseded by 4.1% version) | 4.30 | Not Tried
Black Sheep - Best Bitter | 3.80 | Not Tried
