Late afternoon good to see this place busy with non Christmassy folk dotted about including a group playing chess. Unexciting beer range today which, to my despair, the Doom Bar clip was turned around.
| Fuller's (part of Asahi Europe) - London Pride | 4.10 | | Crystal clear, perfect temperature and nigh on perfect condition. |
| St Austell - Proper Job | 4.50 | | Spicy peppery with a bitter sweet finish served in tip top nick. |

Lunchtime. Birthday pint with my son. A few eaters in and a couple of other drinkers. It felt very pleasant - I think there has been some additional memorabilia since I was last here. Log fire on the go in the dining area.
| Timothy Taylor - Landlord | 4.30 | | It quite as good as it could be - put perfectly acceptable. £4.80. |

Early evening a few chaps drinking at the bar but otherwise quiet. I ponder on how long the village can support both pubs? Hmmm...

Late afternoon friendly welcome and fairly quiet just one group in at the window table. My first visit, has been on my 'to do' list far too long and a nice surprise too, quaint unspolit interior yet to be IKEAised dare I say it..
| Timothy Taylor - Knowle Spring | 4.20 | | Instant 4* decision - light floral notes and a zesty hit made for a refreshing Citra style beer in superb condition. |
| Sharp's - Doom Bar | 4.00 | Not Tried | This was up against stiff competition today |
