An appalling day with heavy rain and strong winds, the railways were severely disrupted and my bus had to do a three point turn in a country lane when a tree came down and blocked the road so I was surprised to see the town's pubs busy. The King's Head on the seafront was rammed and noisy so I came here instead, the pub was absolutely full and had a great atmosphere. I returned for another pint later in the day.

Lunchtime visit from soon after 12:00 until the final bell at 2pm. A good crowd of people enjoying the friendly atmosphere here today. We returned in the evening to find that most of the lunchtime crowd were back as well as us.

A must do while in Deal - very busy for early evening, friendly welcome from the owner's daughter without prompting offered us 'beerboard' tasters of today's four. We perched outside on the window sill and soaked up the evening sun.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Kent - Session Pale3.70ExceptionalTicked all my boxes for a perfect pint..
Oakham - Bishops Farewell4.60ExcellentSmooth rich yet malty hoppy and refreshing. An easy second choice.
Goacher's - Silver Star4.20ExcellentA taster - not at all sickly sweet unlike its big brother Gold Star, more dry light refreshing pale ale.
Canterbury Ales (sometimes badged as Canterbrew) - The Reeve's Ale4.10GoodJust a taster was enough - ok but coppery and nutty
