Beer | ABV | Score | Notes |
---|---|---|---|
Salopian - Blackwater Kangaroo Court | 4.00 | A really good, well-balanced, pale and hoppy beer. | |
Silver Brewhouse (formerly Raw) - H.o.f.f. | 5.00 | Another pale and hoppy beer, this one slightly harshly hopped with Stella and Cascade. It grew on me as the glass went down. | |
Revolutions - Unknown Pleasures | 4.50 | A golden/amber beer, single-hopped with Glacier. Aromatic and tasty. | |
Thornbridge / Thornbridge Hall - Puja | 6.70 | A collaboration brew with Dark Star. Big and bold. Floral, a little sweet (Jasmine) and hints of orange. | |
Vale - Hopocalypse Vale | 4.30 | Probably my favourite of the evening. A very nicely-rounded hoppy, golden beer. | |
Great Heck - Amish Mash | 4.70 | An orange coloured, authentically cloudy wheat beer in the German style. Quite heavily hopped with US hops. Having tried a couple of hoppy wheat beers, I have to say that they do not really work for me. | |
Blue Bee - Bees Knees Bitter | 4.00 | Murky brown in colour and very lively. Hop bitterness without much body. | |
Harwich Town - Phoenix APA | 5.00 | I was looking forward to this one, and it certainly looked and smelt good – pale and clearly very hoppy. But the beer was spoilt with an infection-type taint that made it hard to judge its real qualities. | |
Orkney (Sinclair) - Red MacGregor | 4.00 | Not Tried | |
Saltaire - Raspberry Blonde | 4.00 | Not Tried | |
Black Hole - Supernova | 4.80 | Not Tried | |
Titanic - Plum Porter | 4.90 | Not Tried | |

The pub is found in Canonbury, Greater London, N5 2NN.
A small-ish, street corner pub, conveniently located right by Canonbury railway station. Established by the 1860s; for most of its history this pub has been called the Grosvenor Arms. The reincarnation as the Snooty Fox has moved the pub a little more upmarket. Candle-lit tables and decent food to complement the beer. CAMRA discount given for card carrying members. North London CAMRA branch Pub of the Year 2019.
We have visited this pub 11 times, seen 76 different beers and tried 46 of them.
