Evening and very quiet - perhaps because they don't sell Guinness but they had several stouts on to fill the gap for the cognoscenti.

Evening. Found with a lot of effort and misdirections. Friendly welcome and immediate offer of CAMRA discount. Suddenly filled up around 2100 hours so time to leave.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Blindmans - Mine Beer4.20GoodBit wet dog bitterness
Rebel - Eighty Shilling5.00GoodOK - not to my palate - and can not understand for the life of me why a Cornish brewery wants to market a Scottish style ale

Busy late on a Saturday afternoon. The mild was a duplicate so went for a rare brewery instead.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Gloucester - Mariner4.20GoodAmber bitter with a good citrus hop character but little malt backup. The finish is dry and hoppy. My sore 15/20.

Ah the Cornubia. Not too busy so we managed to get a seat and discuss Jonathan Meades' program from the 90's on Pub Architecture and his visit to the Three Chimneys and a pint of Fremlins. Well, I talked about it; Tony stared out the window.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Blindmans - Buff3.60GoodLight copper colour. Weak reedy beer. Slightly metallic. A marsh-side beer I thought.

Busy with people sitting outside enjoying the end of a warm and sunny day. I think this pub may have been taken over by the Hidden Brewing company giving that the regulars are all Hidden beers and the bar is covered in Hidden beer towels.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Hidden - Pint3.80AcceptableBrown bitter. Smells of lime. A malt brown beer. Jane had this a few years ago in Winchester and I recall it being a lot better than this one.

Oasis of edwardian gas lit darkness. Heaving and friendly with at least one barman who looked dazed by it all. Great pub

The pub is found in Bristol, Avon, BS1 6EN.

Small pub with seating down the length of the main bar and a limited number of tables at each end. Difficult to find but is located behind the fire station and slightly set back from the road. Very CAMRA oriented and gives a real ale discount for card carrying CAMRA members. Front outside seating area and a side garden with shale chippings on the ground and a set out petanque pitch. Long narrow marquee is often set up to the right hand side of the pub for a weatherproof yet outside experience. 10 handpumps on the counter and a range of ciders from boxes. The licensees here once ran the Crown & Thistle in Gravesend when it won CAMRA's National Pub of the Year.

We have visited this pub 19 times, seen 86 different beers and tried 25 of them.
