My first visit here for very many years, I used to come here in the 1970s but the pub stopped selling real ale and became somewhat uninviting. This was a lunchtime visit and the bar staff made us extremely welcome and informed us of the history behind the tile work which was originally part of a snicket alongside the pub with serving hatches in the pub wall with the mosaic flooring along the wall is part of the original alley. I was given a loyalty card so I look forward to returning for a few more beers and earning my free pint.
