There is an early rush hour in London tonight, with the England v Costa Rica game on TV at 5pm. I manage to get in here for the second half, but it is crowded and viewing is difficult.

Wandered out of the Harp on to the Strand, ended up here. Just me and daughter to start with but when the reinforcements arrived we sat upstairs overlooking the bar below.

I usually visit this pub once a year, for my office Christmas Party. But I was passing on Sunday afternoon and decided to pop in and watch a bit of the men’s final from Wimbledon. Standing room only around the screens and interesting to see that the majority here appeared to be supporting the Swiss rather than the Scotsman.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Sambrook's - Lavender Hill (originally exclusively for Nicholson's)4.50ExcellentHoney beers don’t always grab me, but I really liked this one. The light honey dose mixed with an orangey hop variety from France go well together on a biscuit malt background.
Robinsons - Globe Hopping4.40AcceptableThe flavour did not seem to live up to the billing of “exotic ingredients from around the world”, or perhaps it did too much – do we really want rice in our beer? Overall a bit of a jumble and a bit soapy too I thought.
