17 Sep 2021 (Dosser)
4 beers on ranging from 3 to £3.60.
Dark Star - Sunquake | 4.80 | | The big hopurst I expected didn't happen. Disappointed but still acceptable. |
31 Jan 2020 (Dosser)
3 beers on but running out fast
Dark Star - Hophead was 3.8% (some has also been brewed by Fuller's) | 3.40 | | Reduced to £2.50 as it was on the way out, but it was ok. |
23 Oct 2019 (Philip Pirrip)
Mid evening visit. Very quiet but great to hear Singing the Blues by Tommy Steele over the speakers, got me whistling. I wonder if the in-house brewery will ever emerge, despite its purpose built (with power and water sources) room on prominent show.
Northdown - Papworth Victory Best Bitter | 4.20 | | Sour hopping |
Northdown - Pale Ale Mary | 4.00 | Not Tried
Northdown - Muggy Porter | 5.00 | Not Tried
Northdown - He-Bru | 4.80 | Not Tried
18 Sep 2019 (Dosser)
4 ales on.
Oakham - Bishops Farewell | 4.60 | | Lifeless and no sign of any citrus flavours |
Sharp's - Special | 5.00 | Not Tried | My friend enjoyed this |
09 Aug 2019 (Magnus Greel)
Fairly quiet for a Friday evening a few groups dotted about we perched at the table by the entrance and enjoyed the gentle breeze coming through the open doors on a muggy summer's evening.
Canterbury Ales (sometimes badged as Canterbrew) - The Reeve's Ale | 4.10 | | Nutty malty traditional English bitter |
Canterbury Ales (sometimes badged as Canterbrew) - 21 Strong Pale | 6.20 | Not Tried
17 Jul 2019 (Dosser)
3 ales on and not as many key kegs as normal.
Northdown - He-Bru | 4.80 | | Too warm for me |
Canterbury Ales (sometimes badged as Canterbrew) - The Knight's | 4.60 | | This was sent back as it appeared to be on the turn |
27 Mar 2019 (Dosser)
3 beers on, all Gadds. Unusual for here.
Ramsgate Brewery (Gadds') - East Kent India Pale Ale | 6.50 | | Most enjoyable pint I had in Broadstairs. |
03 Jan 2019 (Dosser)
Few in on a cold afternoon.
Kent - Black Mirror | 4.50 | | Didn't taste like a Kent brewery beer but went down well. |
28 Oct 2018 (Dosser)
A good crowd in
Iron Pier - Perry St Pale | 3.70 | | Nice flavours |
Heritage (formerly William Worthington Brewery) - Masterpiece | 5.60 | | Not my sort of beer at all |
03 Oct 2018 (Philip Pirrip)
Mid evening visit. A singing group was in full voice in the upstairs area with a variety of harmonics put to a number of contemporary pop and more traditional songs, very good they were. The barmaid said the owner is concentrating on the delicatessen in the old pub's premises for the moment then attention may fall to commissioning the brewery intended for here.
Kent - Green Giant | 6.00 | | Good but not a patch on last year's anywhere I have tried it so far in 2018 |
Northdown - Pale Ale Mary | 4.00 | | A tired pint which needed lemonade dashes to push it down |
Tiny Rebel - Cwtch | 4.60 | Not Tried
Swan - Green Swan | 4.10 | Not Tried | A Herefordshire take on green hopping |
