Mid evening and fairly busy, friendly welcome from staff and customers - a chap was just leaving and kindly offered the table to us which was greatly appreciated. My first visit here, has not been on my "to do list" down to the daft name of the place however owing to the popularity amongst many of the scribes on this site, plus its convenient location to the Italian restaurant we were on our way to I decided to give it the benefit of the doubt and glad I did. Calm relaxed civilised and friendly atmosphere worlds apart from the Ravensgate we'd just been to.
Mad Cat - Crispin Pale4.00ExcellentLight refreshing aromatic floral ale
3 Piers - Little Bastard7.40GoodA chap at the bar insisted I had a taster of this evil devil's juice, not too bad however I wouldn't have chosen this otherwise.

Mid evening disappointment following on from there being no cask at the Ravensgate Arms. Winter hours here means 7pm close. Odd as all other pubs in the vicinity had reasonable patronage. Off to the next one ......
