The work week had ended and a pint was in order. Very busy. Sat in the garden and admired the silhouette of the church against the deep twilight sky.

Mid evening. Quiet busy compared with other times I've been here.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Haresfoot - Lock Keeper's3.90ExcellentBrown nutty bitter. Really nice astringent finish with hints of nettle. Similar to Canterbury Ales' Wife of Bath.
Haresfoot - Totem American IPA4.50GoodPale gold. Leafy hop bite, hints of rose and cough candy.

A swift evening pint was in order. I sat by the fire on a somewhat sunken leather sofa and aimlessly stared at the fittings. This pub has an old and impressive structure.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Fuller's (part of Asahi Europe) - London Pride4.10AcceptableUmm a bit pale and a bit one dimensional. My guess is the tight sparkler didn't help.

You know you're on holiday when breakfast consists of a half of 6X and a packet of crisps.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Wadworth - 6X4.10AcceptableNever been my favorite beer but it's honest at least

After waiting at the bar for someone to appear behind it I left and came back 15 mins later. There were a handful of people in and I got a seat quite easily.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Timothy Taylor - Golden Best (was 3.5%)3.40ExcellentReally good condition. Tasted of mottled stewed Sevil oranges

Came for a drink with Jane and it was busy.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Butcombe - Bitter (or Original Beer)4.00AcceptableThis was darker than I imagine. Much like the Adnams it was fine but lacked any zing
Adnams - Southwold Bitter3.70AcceptablePerfectly okay but lacked any zing

We'd heard there was a beer festival on and there was. It was being held in the garden where there were 10 beers on gravity in the barn. There were a good collection of folk sitting at the tables and the people behind the bar were good fun too.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Ossett - Cristal3.90GoodLight fruity with nice subtle hop & slight hoppy finish
Frog Island - Shoemaker4.20AcceptableBrown bitter, apply, rough hop and a bit unsubtle on the alcohol
Tring - Lunardi's Pale Ale4.30AcceptableNot exactly a pale ale, more a best bitter. Bit of a twigglety malty bit to it with low hopping. A bit Wadsworth 6X.

Jane and I escaped Isabel for an hour leaving her in the care of her Aunts. The pub was near empty but the lady behind the bar was running around doing all kinds of things. We sat in the main bar with our halves of bitter and tried to keep our eyes open. The staff were friendly and the it was all very pleasant.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Sharp's - Doom Bar4.00AcceptableI think I got the first one out and it was a bit flat. It was still nice with some caramel fruity notes.

Fancied a swift pint and the Three Crowns has had on some interesting beers in the past so I thought I'd pop round. Not being a major fan of GK IPA or Ruddles County on I moved on swiftly.
