A handful in watching music videos on a big screen. I think this pub reminds me of a French tavern in Normandy with all its dark wood and straight edges. Anyway, I like it.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Greene King - XX Dark Mild3.00GoodReminded me of the dark mild I used to drink in the student union in Plymouth 25 years ago. Virtually no hops and just a reedy, watery, taste.

Sunday lunchtime - a few in, some chatting, some watching F1. Thought I would try again as Channel Draught mentioned it - 4 ales on but rather unadventurous in the choice still.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Harvey's - Sussex Best Bitter4.00GoodAs hop-laden as usual.
Greene King - XX Dark Mild3.00GoodSmooth, good body for a low abv.

Busy with jolly locals.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Skinner's - Cornish Knocker Ale4.50Goodgood condition and full bodied - a little sweet of my liking though.
Oakleaf (now see Fallen Acorn entries) - Quercus Folium4.00GoodOnly a taster but it seemed interesting - very dry - disappointingly I believe that the Latin name just translates to "oak leaf" que sera sera.

Not a planned visit on a four pub Canterbury crawl tonight - but finished in the Cross Keys, Oaten Hill. No entry added for that pub as it is does not serve real ale. Disappointingly it was the liveliest and busiest of my 4 with plenty of twenty somethings who seemed oblivious to this major failing in a pub. After a half of fizzy cider I had to restore my faith and the King's Head didn't disappoint: busy and lively and a choice of four ales on.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Harvey's - Southdown Harvest Ale5.00ExcellentNot as hoppy as expected from Harvey's but this really grew on me and I had to drag myself away. Mmm nice finish for a mid-week jaunt.
Wantsum - Green Hop Challenger4.50ExcellentI think it was this "green hop" - very good hoppy flavour and excellent condition.

The pub is found in Canterbury, Kent, CT1 3RY.

This is a traditional one room pub on Wincheap heading south out of the city. Central bar serves 2 areas. One has darts, bar billiards, Sky Sports on wall mounted flat screen TV and a fireplace, whilst on the other side of the bar are more tables and chairs. Hops decorate the wooden beams and bar. Four handpumps. Pumpclips behind the bar and on the wall are testament to the beers they've had on in the past but the range is far more limited of late. Bat and Trap and Darts leagues also feature.

We have visited this pub 33 times, seen 45 different beers and tried 29 of them.
