Ah, the Unicorn. Hasn't changed for years. We sat in the back. Old school (spelt correctly as "old school" should be). 1980' music on the stereo. Cracking stuff.

Mid afternoon- swift one, quiet.
| The Crewe Dog - Crewe’s Control | 5.00 | | A ‘Tropical Pale Ale’. Opaque. On hand pump so I’m assuming it was a living ale, but how do they know when the barrel is going? |

| Iron Pier - Milk Stout | 4.40 | Not Tried | |
| Liberation (formerly called Jersey) - Herm Gold | 4.20 | Not Tried | |

Early evening waiting for a takeaway. Spent a pleasant 40 minutes or so watching the comings and goings here and listening to the pleasant hubbub of a good old fashioned public house. Noted that the pub clock is 5 minutes SLOW (that never use to be the case). Intriguing old pump clips behind the bar including Master Brew Mild, Worthington Draught Bitter and Whitbread White Label (1%). Sometimes I’m very grateful that pubs aren't what they used to be. Canterbury Ales, Oatmeal Porter (4.9%) also on - limited edition.
| Kent - Olicana | 4.50 | | Superb. |
| Oakham - Nelson Sauvin | 4.20 | | 3.8% version. |
| Shepherd Neame - Master Brew Bitter | 3.70 | Not Tried | |

Early evening friendly and welcoming busier than expected so opted to sit at the bar and enjoyed my pint.

Time for a late evening pint after a very pleasant meal before our train home, quiet just a couple of other groups in. We sat at the bar and enjoyed our drinks in the calm relaxed atmosphere here.
| Hopdaemon - Green Daemon | 5.00 | | Golden 'helles' beer with luscious tropical fruit aromas and a crisp clean finish. |
| Shepherd Neame - Master Brew Bitter | 3.70 | Not Tried | |

| Ossett - Voodoo | 5.00 | Not Tried | |

Mid afternoon. Usually quite a “blokey” pub (according to my wife) - but 3 women and one chap in today. I was given some freshly picked spinach by one woman and chatted to another, Tracy, who had been a regional CAMRA official for 27 years.
| Purity - Jimbo | 4.00 | | Unusually traditional for Purity - but very well done. |
| Adnams - Broadside | 4.70 | Not Tried | |
| Shepherd Neame - Master Brew Bitter | 3.70 | Not Tried | |
| Canterbury Ales (sometimes badged as Canterbrew) - Pacific Pale | 4.30 | Not Tried | Marked up as 4.0% |

Met up here with a recently retired colleague for a relaxed and pleasant stay which included a reasonable and tasty lunch. Very quiet just a couple of others inside and double that in the secluded beer garden.
| Hopdaemon - Green Daemon | 5.00 | | Full bodied yet light and easy drinking citrusy nectar. |
| Bedlam - Smash | 4.20 | | Malty with hints of tropical fruits. I do wish breweries wouldn't use meaningless yet fashionable acronyms the average punter wouldn't understand. |
| Adnams - Broadside | 4.70 | Not Tried | |
| Shepherd Neame - Master Brew Bitter | 3.70 | Not Tried | |

Afternoon- on my way to Craven Cottage. Hopefully to tick off a couple of heritage pubs on the way. Quiet but pleasant in here, good beer choice.

Just 2 others in upon our arrival around 16.30 however standing room only when we left 3 hours later. This could quite easily fall into the 'craze pub' category should I ever become devoid of imagination!
| Hopdaemon - Winter Ale | 4.20 | | Aniseed and blackcurrant hints made for a flavoursome ale negating the need for a higher ABV more common amongst this genre. |
| Wadworth - Horizon | 4.00 | | |
| Robinsons - Trooper | 4.70 | | |
| Shepherd Neame - Master Brew Bitter | 3.70 | Not Tried | |
