Late afternoon and quiet, for a quick beer after meetings in Reading.
Kirkstall - Three Swords | 4.50 | | An excellent Pale Ale with a good body and good citrusy hop tastes. |

Thornbridge / Thornbridge Hall - Baize Chocolate Mint Stout | 5.50 | Not Tried
Gloucester - Gold | 3.90 | Not Tried

I hit Happy Hour here (I think I was in at around 6-7pm) and the pub was busy.
Arbor Ales - The Devil Made Me Brew It | 5.50 | | A black, dry-hopped Stout. Lots of coffee/chocolate flavours and good hops too. |
Arbor Ales - The Ego Has Landed | 4.80 | | Golden in colour. An intensely hoppy American Pale Ale. |
Hogs Back - HBB | 3.70 | Not Tried
Windsor & Eton - Windsor Knot | 4.00 | Not Tried

Brisk early evening trade in here.
Siren Craft - Dinner for Ten | 4.10 | | Golden. Described as a Vienna lager-style, but has massively ramped-up hop levels which made it taste more like a ‘Session IPA’ to me., although there is a sweet malt background. |
Great Heck - Blonde | 4.30 | | Golden, easy drinking, quite a soft mouthfeel. |
Hogs Back - HBB | 3.70 | Not Tried
Binghams - Hot Dog Chilli Stout | 5.00 | Not Tried
Rooster's - Weak Ender | 3.00 | Not Tried
09 Dec 2015 (Stephen Harris)
An increasing commuter trade throughout my late afternoon/early evening visit. As I was leaving, I noticed the prominent signage about CAMRA discounts - have to remenber that for next time.
Downton - Port Stout | 5.20 | | Very dark brown. Smooth, vinous and alcoholic. |
Kelham Island (probably brewed by Thornbridge now) - Riders on the Storm | 4.50 | | Amber-coloured. Full-bodied and balanced. |
Hogs Back - HBB | 3.70 | Not Tried
Redemption - Urban Dusk | 4.60 | Not Tried
Redemption - Fellowship Porter | 5.10 | Not Tried
Goffs - Lancer | 3.80 | Not Tried

Very pleased to discover this pub, right by the railway station and with an enticing cask beer range.

Binghams - Twyford Tipple | 3.70 | | A brown Session Bitter with above average hops. |
Big Shed - Rocky Mountain | 4.80 | | A rather sweet (I thought), golden Pale Ale. |
Frome (formerly Milk Street) - Zig Zag Stout | 4.50 | Not Tried
