Sunday afternoon, I enjoyed the complimentary roast potatoes.

Gun - Project Babylon Pale Ale4.60Excellent

Final pub of the day, a good atmosphere and some nice people.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Ridgeside - Objects in Space4.80GoodI really do not like these murky looking pints that seem popular these days. This one was what I imagine cold grapefruit soup to look and taste like. £4.40 per pint.
14 Sep 2021 (ChrisE)
Afternoon visit, I managed to get a seat by the window. Their Maidstone branch is expected to open on Thursday 16 September.

Thornbridge / Thornbridge Hall - Jaipur5.90Excellent

Pleasant and relaxed evening visit although for some reason I found the seating rather cramped annd uncomfortable tonight.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Manchester - Factory4.00GoodMore of a typical English bitter than a pale ale as denoted by the clip.
08 Sep 2021 (ChrisE)
Evening visit to meet up with a few friends. Not too busy tonight.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Manchester - Factory4.00GoodSelling well tonight.
10 Jul 2021 (ChrisE)
A busy Saturday afternoon. I notice that Steve is going to stop accepting cash payments from 19 July which is a shame as I do not like using plastic for small amounts of money.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Mallinsons - Hallertau Blanc4.30ExcellentPerfectly well kept but not my style of ale.
12 Jun 2021 (ChrisE)
Early afternoon visit and comfortably busy. One gentleman arrived who does not own a computer or mobile 'phone and he had difficulty registering on the pub's track and trace screen as it asks you for an email address and will not let you in without one. Sometimes there is just no substitute for pen and paper but that did not seem to be available. Somebody went to the screen and signed him in as qwerty@..com and that gave him access to the pub.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Buxton - Right to Roam3.80GoodA nice session beer.
31 May 2021 (ChrisE)
I decided to take advantage of the fact that as from today this pub is open on Mondays. A good steady trade whilst I was in there.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Moor - Nano Cask Faram Fuggle3.80Good

BeerABVScoreNotes
Three Blind Mice - Old Brown Mouse4.20ExcellentA traditional brown bitter.
29 Apr 2021 (ChrisE)
I was the first customer in at 4pm opening time, the place soon became comfortably busy. Steve informed me that he hopes to start opening on Mondays once a suitable member of staff has been recruited.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Mad Squirrel (formerly Red Squirrel) - Mister Squirrel4.00ExcellentA fresh cask on today.

The pub is found in Ashford, Kent, TN23 1JJ.

This pub opened on 27 July 2018 in a former music shop in New Rents. There is seating in the bar area and a separate room to the rear plus a patio area at the back of the pub. Originally all beers were sourced from local breweries and dispensed by gravity from a stillage behind the bar but since then 10 keg lines have been added too and supply may be from outside the local area. A refurbishment took place during March 2020 and beer is now served through a handpump. Refurbishment during 2021 added further lines so now offering 23 beers on KeyKeg/keg, one cask beer on handpump and half a dozen ciders. Card payment only, no cash. Since autumn 2021 there was a second pub in this chain, in Maidstone which subsequently closed. Closed in May 2023 citing lack of viability. Re-opened 2024 with new name but seemingly as a keg house.

We have visited this pub 60 times, seen 56 different beers and tried 47 of them.
