Gareth and I met Ian here and, later, Tim. Got busy quickly.
Hopdaemon - Dominator5.10GoodA bit cold but very drinkable.
28 Feb 2019 (Magnus Greel)
Midday visit a few others in, friendly welcome as always here. We met up with the rest of our group to kick off ChrisE's 17 and 3/4 birthday crawl.
Iron Pier - Bitter4.00Good
12 Feb 2019 (ChrisE)
Tuesday evening and I was very disappointed to find that there was no cask beer available, evidently the new range of various keg type beers are so popular that just one cask ale will now be available from Thursday lunch time until Sunday or earlier if it runs out. I was very surprised to find that Steve is now giving 20p Camra discount on the keg beers. I sampled a half pint of one of the available beers (I can't remember what it was called) and found it to be horribly over carbonated. Not to my taste at all.
05 Feb 2019 (ChrisE)
Afternoon visit and a good chat with Steve who has now added ten keg beer lines. The original plan for everything to made in Kent has been relaxed a bit as about half of these kegs are brewed outside of the County. Two casks on sale today, the other one was from Kent Brewery but I can't remember which one it was.
Canterbury Ales (sometimes badged as Canterbrew) - The Merchant's Ale4.00Good
25 Jan 2019 (Magnus Greel)
Mid evening fairly busy with folk coming and going during our stay. Good to see this place (and the Taproom) attracts the more upmarket clientele compared to the usual establishments here.
Mad Cat - Crispin Pale4.00Good
Canterbury Ales (sometimes badged as Canterbrew) - The Knight's4.60Good
09 Jan 2019 (ChrisE)
I had a good chat with Steve. He informed me that Romney Marsh Brewery will be doing a tap takeover and Meet the Brewer evening at 8pm on Wednesday 16th January.
Musket - Muzzleloader4.50Excellent
Whitstable - East India Pale Ale (or EIPA)4.10Acceptable
08 Jan 2019 (Jack William)
Early lunchtime - had a good chat with the guv, he apologised for the limited selection of ales - apparently had been shut for a while after new year and was waiting on fresh supplies. Could have been the reason that both beers were a little tired. Liked it though - I will be back.
Whitstable - East India Pale Ale (or EIPA)4.10AcceptableA bit flat.
Whitstable - Bitter3.80AcceptablePast its best.
06 Dec 2018 (Magnus Greel)

Ripple Steam - Classic IPA4.50GoodMalty peppery and spicy
Hop Fuzz - English4.00Not Tried
Hopdaemon - Red4.20Not Tried
27 Nov 2018 (ChrisE)
One of the few pubs in Ashford that seemed to be doing well on this damp Tuesday afternoon. I had a chat with someone from Odcombe Brewery.
Pig & Porter - Thief of Time4.80Excellent
Pig & Porter - Slave to the Money4.10Excellent
Pig & Porter - Skylarking4.00Not Tried
13 Nov 2018 (Magnus Greel)
My first visit here and I liked it, we were the only customers for a while until a few arrived during our stay. Enthusiastic and welcoming landlord.
Musket - Powder Burn5.00ExcellentPrune hints and sharp coffee notes in fine form.
Old Dairy - Blue Top4.80AcceptableNot a great advocate of OD beers due to their sweetness, this example although fairly fresh would warrant a meddling Govt sugar tax levy.
Tonbridge - Rustic4.00Not Tried

This pub opened on 27 July 2018 in a former music shop in New Rents. There is seating in the bar area and a separate room to the rear plus a patio area at the back of the pub. Originally all beers were sourced from local breweries and dispensed by gravity from a stillage behind the bar but since then 10 keg lines have been added too and supply may be from outside the local area.
