Hard to believe you're in a large industrial estate whilst sat in their tranquil little beer garden. Another awesome pub in this fantastic little area.

Still busy late on a Saturday afternoon.
Thwaites - Nutty All Black | 3.30 | | Special Rugby World Cup version of the mild with New Zealand hops. These impart a much more fruity flavour to the beer with some citrus notes but still the smooth malty flvaour underneath. My score 15/20. |
North Yorkshire - Archbishop Lee's Ruby Ale | 4.00 | | More amber than ruby these days, mild tasting with little hop or malt character to speak of. My score 14/20. |
09 Jul 2011 (Martin the Mildman)
Salamander - Yo Banana Boy | 3.80 | | Very pale with good citrus hop character and good malt balance. Refreshing hop finish. My score 16/20. |
25 Jun 2011 (Martin the Mildman)
Midsummer beer festival in progress with al fresco bar in the garden.
Salamander - Dark Crystal Stout | 4.50 | | Sweetish and full bodied stout, unusually for this brewery more malty than hoppy. Lingering toffee malt finish. My score 17/20. |
Thornbridge / Thornbridge Hall - Alchemy XIII | 4.80 | | A brown ale, red/brown in colour. Nutty maltiness and medium hoppiness with some fruit in the finish. My score 16/20. |
Irwell Works - Lightweights & Gentlemen | 3.20 | | Pale light ale with cereally grainy malt and very little hoppiness. My score 15/20. |
Mallinsons - Hubble (Space #8) | 3.70 | | Pale, hoppy and bitter blonde beer with some citrus tartness to the flavour. The finish id quite dry and hoppy. My score 15/20. |

Popular as ever on a Saturday afternoon.
Exit 33 (formerly The Brew Company then Sky's Edge) - Anvil Porter | 3.90 | | Black porter with a toasted malt character balanced by some citrus hoppiness. My score 16/20. |

Busy on Good Friday afternoon.
Acorn - Darkness | 4.20 | | Strong dark brown mild with a well rounded sweet and malty character. A little hoppiness to temper the sweetness in the finish. My score 16/20. |
Toad - Malted in Black | 4.20 | | One of those beers that could be a mild or stout.Lots of chocolate malt in this, with some dark roast coffee notes. Some hoppiness in the finish, so just falls in the stout category. My score 16/20. |
