My last pub of a long day of, um, field research – with more in prospect tomorrow. Volney and I meet up with a group of friends in here and they have a long list of pubs to visit. But I’m flagging a bit and call it a day after a last couple of beers. The pub is, inevitably, busy. Many beers are on, but I do not get around to listing them.
Abbeydale - Dr Morton’s Crispy Automatic Duck | 4.00 | | A tasty, golden beer, single-hopped with Amarillo. |
White Rose (Sheffield) - Gecko's Back | 4.20 | | Golden and crisp. |
Pictish - Brewers Gold | 3.80 | Not Tried
Long Man - Old Man | 4.30 | Not Tried

Mid-evening visit and this pub, as usual, was experiencing wave after wave of pub crawlers; although the lack today of any sort of keg lager was off-putting for some.
Crouch Vale - Citra | 3.90 | | It felt a bit odd drinking an Essex beer in Yorkshire, but I had been hoping the CV single-hop series would take in the Citra hop and didn’t want to miss out. This was everything you would expect from such a good brewer. |
Exit 33 (formerly The Brew Company then Sky's Edge) - Brew Town Rats | 4.40 | | A slightly cloudy, golden, wheat beer. |
Sheffield - Stainless | 4.50 | | Very pale and crisp. |
Bottle Brook - Louisiana | 5.60 | | A black, smoked porter. |

Glentworth - Bullet Proof | 4.30 | Not Tried
15 Dec 2012 (Martin the Mildman)
Busy, standing room only in the front room but got a seat in the back room.
Exit 33 (formerly The Brew Company then Sky's Edge) - Vigilante Chocolate Sting | 5.20 | | An excellent thick chocolatey stout with a little hoppiness in the finish. My score 16/20. |
Dukeries - Baronet | 3.90 | | Well balanced amber bitter, just a slight tip towards the malty side. My score 15/20. |
29 Sep 2012 (Martin the Mildman)
Comfortably busy.
Imperial - Mysterious Blonde | 4.20 | | Very good citrus hop character to this pale bitter. Fruity finish. My score 16/20. |

Julian Church - Rev & Go | 4.40 | Not Tried
17 Mar 2012 (Martin the Mildman)

17 Dec 2011 (Martin the Mildman)
A quieter refuge from some of the busier pubs in the area.
Yorkshire Dales - In Sleets | 4.20 | | Dark brown bitter with a bitter malt and hop flavour and a very dry finish. My score 14/20. |
19 Nov 2011 (Martin the Mildman)
Glentworth - Beacon Light | 4.10 | | Been a while since I had a Glentworth beer and I can confirm they are still pale hoppy and dry with citrus hop notes. My score 14/20. |
