Hotel opposite the pier on the seafront. Bar is a modern minimalist place. Bar has 4 handpumps. Here with Andrew on the start of our E. Sussex tour. I don't normally start drinking this early, but we needed to get around the places, so I broke my "not to have a drink before midday" rule. I liked the service, the beers and the view from the window. Not sure about the decor though.

The Good Beer Guide says this opens at 10am - and they're right! Ian and I arrived at 10.30 and there were already customers in supping pints. The bar area is shared with the hotels breakfast seating which made the experience of tucking into a pint whilst others tucked into the bacon and eggs a little surreal. The staff were friendly and the views out to the pier and horizon lovely.
