Brief visit. Most pleasant bar staff. Wonder if beer range will be shaken up by the opening ot the Eltham GPO pub opposite.

After a manic rush from work to reach Argos before it closed, the OH and I decided to chill out with a pint in the evening sun. This really is a lovely smart town centre boozer and feels like you could be a million miles away.

Timothy Taylor - Landlord4.30ExcellentAwesome. They serve a consistently great pint of Landlord in here. The best I've had anywhere.

Hiked along the Green Chain Walk to Eltham Palace. Seemed only right to stop in here for a pint before strolling back home. Sat out front on the wall in the evening sunshine. Must have been a busy bank holiday for them as sadly the TT Landlord, Harveys and Leffe had all run dry.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Brains - The Rev James Original4.50AcceptableI used to really rate this beer, not quite so much nowadays. Mahogany, cool and refreshing with a Burtonesque malty tail - but I was really craving some ballsy hops.

Stopped for a quick pint before dinner and ended up staying for a second. Good number of punters occupying most of the tables. We sat in tall-backed wooden chairs in a corner underneath one of the chandeliers (yes, chandeliers!) Friendly, chatty barman ensured we felt welcomed despite being unfamiliar to him. The owners have done a really good job here.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Timothy Taylor - Landlord4.30ExcellentI overlook this beer far too often. Glowing gold, big and hoppy with counteracting creamy sweet malts. A cracking ale which didn't suffer so much from the cool dispense.
Theakston - Old Peculier5.60ExcellentFirst cask OP of the season. Wintry winner, dark, moody malts. Is this the ideal cold January evening ale? Cellar must have been chilly as this was served a little on the cool side, though conditioning was excellent once it had warmed through.
