Very friendly, laid back, country pub with a lovely garden, good range of Sheps and an excellent food menu. Our inquisitive little toddler loves the garden and the landlord is kiddy (and dog) tolerant, so full marks there.

Came here for lunch and sat in the main bar as the garden was packed.
| Shepherd Neame - Kent's Best | 4.10 | | Kent's Best hey? I don't think so. Brown, slightly malty water with a unsubtle hop bit to the finish. |

Came for lunch on a sunny saturday afternoon. This is a lovely pub with a pretty garden which is bounded by a stream.
| Shepherd Neame - Mild | 3.00 | | Although Ian tells me this is always keg I'm going to rate it anyway. It smelt slightly sour with a watery subtle burnt malt and hop taste and some very mild caramel on the finish |
| Shepherd Neame - Whitstable Bay Organic Ale | 4.50 | | Bit dusty tasting but okay. Only ever seen this in bottles before and it tasted fairly similar |

Pleasant pub by the river with a beautiful beer garden next to the water with willows providing shade. Serves a good range of Shepherd Neame beers. Seems friendly enough. Worth a repeat visit
| Shepherd Neame - Canterbury Jack | 4.10 | | I quite liked this. Mid brown bitter with flowery hops, Sheps yeast on the nose, some light acids. A good bitter |

Came in at the very end of the afternoon session when only a handfull of locals were left. The landlord was friendly as always.
| Shepherd Neame - Canterbury Jack | 4.10 | | A clear chestnut brown beer with a slight head. Very hoppy but with a bitter resinous taste that I don't overly like. If there were any malt it was over powered by the resinous hops |
