Early evening on a Tuesday and reasonably well filled.
King Beer (formerly W.J. King) - Summer Ale4.00AcceptableAmber bitter rather dominated by crystal malt giving a bitterweet and rather cloying taste. Very dry finish. My score 14/20.

Jubilee Bank Holiday Tuesday finds this pub fairly quite at late breakfast time.
Weltons - She's A Diamond Gal4.60GoodStrong golden ale with quite a sweetish character, full bodied with toffee malt flavours. My score 15/20.

Quite busy on a Sunday lunchtime before Christmas.
Daleside - Christmas Cracker4.50AcceptableRed/brown bitter with a dryish bitter and malty character with a little dry hoppiness in the finish. My score 14/20.

Everards (see entries against Joule's & Robinsons whilst its new brewery was being built) - Bend Eclipse4.80ExcellentExcellent Dark Ale. Pump clip said it was Eclipse Cascadian Dark Ale brewed for Spoons by an American brewer. The Everards web site says they brewed it.

Called in for breakfast here before the Spa Valley Railway beer festival. Fairly quiet until a large party arrived.
