Pub number two in the mini crawl. Lunchtime. A few guest beers including a some "coming soon" clips. A voice in my ear said the Tring was on last week so avoided. Nice to see two Rockin Robin beers. I've only listed the beer I had.

When I arrived here in the early evening there was just one member of staff valiantly trying to serve an increasingly impatient throng, and I nearly walked straight back out. But one chap loudly demanded to speak to the manager, and, miraculously, four more bar staff instantly appeared from somewhere and cleared the backlog in double-quick time. A splendid pub by the way.
Hook Norton - Brew Moon Real Antipodean Ale4.00ExcellentAnother very tasty session bitter enhanced by Southern Hemisphere hops.
Banks's - Two Birds Golden Ale4.40ExcellentGolden, quite light in body (some wheat in the mix), and nice citrusy hops. Really enjoyed this one.

Early evening on a Tuesday and reasonably well filled.
King Beer (formerly W.J. King) - Summer Ale4.00AcceptableAmber bitter rather dominated by crystal malt giving a bitterweet and rather cloying taste. Very dry finish. My score 14/20.

Jubilee Bank Holiday Tuesday finds this pub fairly quite at late breakfast time.
Weltons - She's A Diamond Gal4.60GoodStrong golden ale with quite a sweetish character, full bodied with toffee malt flavours. My score 15/20.
Weltons - This England3.50AcceptableRather thin, dry bitter with a bitter hop character and a dryish finish. My score 13/20.
