12:00 - 18:00 Day two of the beer festival. Disaster. There was a huge thunderstorm in the small hours of Saturday morning. When the hard spiles were taken out to start serving at 11:00 every beer had no condition. Each pint poured well but the head dissipated almost immediately. The hard spiles were removed and replaced for each pint served throughout the day and by the time I left the beers were starting to show some condition. The casks in the pub's cellar rather than those outside in the marquee were unaffected.

As usual post shopping visit. Was given a pint of Steve's first brew. Seven days after first taste, the beer had matured. It was excellent. I am looking forward to him going commercial. First of all he has to complete a 131 page HMRC form.
