Early Saturday afternoon. Not particularly busy, but ticking over nicely, and I took the opportunity to have one of their very good value sandwiches with my pint.

Sat in the corner on the PC entering visits. Not surprising really that this pub's entry on PubsandBeer is one of the most visited websites on the PC. Decent smattering of locals and a good beer line up, mostly Hogs Back beers.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Hogs Back - A over T9.00ExceptionalGorgeous, oh what delicious fruits. OK, it's £4 a pint but it is heaven. One of the best beers I've had in a long time. The rich strawberry and raspberry and cherry is simply sublime. Oh man, that is just wonderful.
Goacher's - Gold Star5.10Not Tried
Dark Star - Hophead was 3.8% (some has also been brewed by Fuller's)3.40Not TriedJust lacks a little condition. Decent hops, but just lacks a bit of carbonation. Big head mind. I won't rate it as it was the last beer out of the barrel, it went off soon after I had it. Replaced by Dark Star Best

2100 and a good crowd and some old lags still standing after the early afternoon "meet the brewer" event!
BeerABVScoreNotes
Hogs Back - A over T9.00ExceptionalSaved the best until last! A not overly sweet barley wine that went down well. Due to our archaic UK duty system, this ale was sold at £4 per pint? But my half was spot on!
Hogs Back - England's Glory4.30ExceptionalAnother A1 session bitter.
Hogs Back - Hop Garden Gold4.40ExcellentGood session bitter.
Hogs Back - Spring Ale4.00ExcellentAnother very quaffable pale ale.
Hogs Back - Tongham TEA (previously T.E.A.)4.20Not Tried
Hogs Back - HBB3.70Not TriedThe "meet the brewer", being Hogs Back, meant the incredible sight of all six pumps deidcated to....Hogs Back. A rare sight in Maidstone if ever there was one!

Fairly busy at 2130 and a good classic rock covers band, Morten, were in full swing.

Brilliant pub, friendly staff, 6 beers on, and a computer in the corner for me to rate on. Lovely.

Dark Star - Sussex Extra Stout4.50GoodI was extolling the virtues of this last night over Guiness, then it goes and lets me down by being not in the best of condition. Still the roasted malts are excellent.
