Very quiet, shame. Really wanted a good atmosphere to end the night on. Oh well.
Hopdaemon - Skrimshander IPA | 4.50 | | Has the usual maltiness and the slightly metallice edge. Not as great as it shud be though. Still a pleasant brew though. |

Got here at 8 and there was a fair crowd in. Out for a friends birthday so there was a huge group of us.
Timothy Taylor - Landlord | 4.30 | | Superb pint of landlord. Creamy and malty with plenty of toffee in there too. Lovely. |
Thornbridge / Thornbridge Hall - Jaipur | 5.90 | | Once again, I know this beer is good but it is definitely not my cup of tea. I won't try it again. |
Ringwood - Old Thumper (now superseded by 5.1% version - separate entry) | 5.60 | Not Tried
Cottage - Clifton Ale | 4.40 | Not Tried
Wadworth - Bishop's Tipple | 5.00 | Not Tried

Got here at around eight and it was fairly quiet. The landlord may just be the friendliest man on earth.
Banks & Taylor's (B&T) - Shefford Old Strong (SOS) | 5.00 | | Fruit and hops, but nothing to really stand out. Good enough though. |

05 Jul 2008 (Brian)
Arrived at about 2pm. It was pretty quiet and all talk was of the water-ski championships that were being held near-by and the fact that the pub had crocodile with mango sauce on the menu board. I've been in this pub before, but years ago in my youth, it has certainly changed - I would argue for the better.
Jennings (since closure now brewed at Marston's) - Cocker Hoop (aka September Ale) | 4.60 | | I was hoping for some Dark Star but this was a pretty good alternative. Golden with white foam head, intensely fruity with citrus and sherbert. A slightly over-sweet finish which stopped it from being a 4. |
Fuller's (part of Asahi Europe) - London Pride | 4.10 | Not Tried
Ramsgate Brewery (Gadds') - No. 3 | 5.00 | Not Tried
Ringwood - Old Thumper (now superseded by 5.1% version - separate entry) | 5.60 | Not Tried
Whitstable - East India Pale Ale (or EIPA) | 4.10 | Not Tried
Adnams - Regatta | 4.30 | Not Tried
05 Jul 2008 (Blair)
Had a band on but it was pretty quiet still. Everyone was down at the 'Powerboat' festival at the seafront.
Dark Star - Hylder Blonde | 4.20 | | Light hoppy ale with elderflower apparently. Nice and refreshing on a hot day. |
Fuller's (part of Asahi Europe) - London Pride | 4.10 | Not Tried
Ringwood - Old Thumper (now superseded by 5.1% version - separate entry) | 5.60 | Not Tried
27 Jun 2008 (Blair)
No DJ tonight unfortunately. Only here for about twenty minutes before getting the cab to Marghetto!
Wychwood (now brewed at Banks's) - Left Back | 4.00 | | For a Wychwood beer this was pretty good. Golden beer with a little fruit and biscuit. Goodish. |
Fuller's (part of Asahi Europe) - London Pride | 4.10 | Not Tried
Timothy Taylor - Landlord | 4.30 | Not Tried
Ringwood - Old Thumper (now superseded by 5.1% version - separate entry) | 5.60 | Not Tried

25 Jun 2008 (Blair)
Really busy in tonight, great to see. Big group of us pretty much took up the whole of the upstairs.
Timothy Taylor - Landlord | 4.30 | | Not as good as it should be. The normal sweet, fruity malt flavours were there, but there was also a harshness that's not normally. |
Ramsgate Brewery (Gadds') - Dr Sunshine's Special Friendly English Wheat Ale | 4.20 | | Really interesting beer, very fruity. A beer like no other. |
Whitstable - East India Pale Ale (or EIPA) | 4.10 | | This beer seems to have a lot of fans, but I'm really not impressed. I find it overly sweet, very cloying and with a nasty harshness to it. Must be something I'm missing. |
Fuller's (part of Asahi Europe) - London Pride | 4.10 | Not Tried
Golden Hill - Exmoor Gold | 5.00 | Not Tried
Ringwood - Old Thumper (now superseded by 5.1% version - separate entry) | 5.60 | Not Tried
20 Jun 2008 (Blair)
Had a dj in tonight, very Phoenix Nights, but in a good way!
Dark Star - Hophead was 3.8% (some has also been brewed by Fuller's) | 3.40 | | Great pint as always, nothing more needs be said. |
Oakham - Inferno | 4.00 | | Lots of citrus and hops in this one. Nice bitter. |
Whitstable - Kentish Reserve | 5.00 | | Don't normally like this brewery, but this beer was really nice. Very fruity with nice mouthfeel. |
Ramsgate Brewery (Gadds') - No. 5 | 4.40 | Not Tried
Fuller's (part of Asahi Europe) - London Pride | 4.10 | Not Tried
Ringwood - Old Thumper (now superseded by 5.1% version - separate entry) | 5.60 | Not Tried
