Lovely evening so had to come out for a few. Quite busy with a great friendly atmosphere. This pub has really gone up in my books lately.
Dark Star - American Pale Ale (some has also been brewed by Fuller's) | 4.70 | | Not as good as it should be. Possibly a little line cleaner, but still a good pint. |
Brains - Bitter | 3.70 | | Good bitter. Malty with a lot of flavour for it's strength. |
Fuller's (part of Asahi Europe) - London Pride | 4.10 | Not Tried
Timothy Taylor - Landlord | 4.30 | Not Tried
Ringwood - Old Thumper (now superseded by 5.1% version - separate entry) | 5.60 | Not Tried
Mauldons - May Bee | 3.70 | Not Tried
05 Jun 2008 (Blair)
Had some pretty awful customers in tonight but thankfully they left after a while. Other than that excellent as always.
Dark Star - Festival | 5.00 | | Quite thick and sticky, quite a rich nutty flavour. Really good. |
Whitstable - Native Bitter | 3.70 | | Not normally a fan of this brewery, but this one was quite nice. Plenty of caramel in the aroma and flavour. |
Dark Star - Old Ale (aka Old Chestnut) | 4.00 | | A little cold so the flavours weren't as pronounced as I'd like. Still a nice pint though. |
Fuller's (part of Asahi Europe) - London Pride | 4.10 | Not Tried
Hop Back - Odyssey | 4.00 | Not Tried
04 Jun 2008 (Blair)
Stop number 3, this place was fairly quiet. Deserves more customers although it is big so that could just make it feel quiet. Friendly staff though.
Hop Back - Odyssey | 4.00 | | Good, old fashioned best bitter. Nice oak and malt flavour. |
Hopdaemon - Green Daemon | 5.00 | | Very light, bursting with fruit flavours. Not really my style of beer but it was still a really nice pint. |
Dark Star - Old Ale (aka Old Chestnut) | 4.00 | | Very pleasant with s strong roasted malt flavour. Good stuff. |
Fuller's (part of Asahi Europe) - London Pride | 4.10 | Not Tried

Dark Star - American Pale Ale (some has also been brewed by Fuller's) | 4.70 | | Very smooth and very hoppy. One of my favourite pale ales. |

21 May 2008 (Blair)
Very quiet, but I was with a large group so it didn't mater. Just good to be somewhere that wasn't showing the football.
Ramsgate Brewery (Gadds') - Dark Mild | 4.00 | | I love this mild, this wasn't as good as it was at the Monty but still a nice pint. Roasted malt with a little chocolate. Another seasonal I wish Eddie would promote to regular. |
Elgood's - Double Swan | 4.50 | | Light fruity, hoppy golden ale, served very well. Just not that great a beer. |
Ramsgate Brewery (Gadds') - DogBolter Dark Porter | 5.60 | Not Tried

14 May 2008 (Blair)
Pretty quiet, came with a big group of friends and I think we trebled the number of people in here. Still a good friendly atmosphere though.
Timothy Taylor - Landlord | 4.30 | | Lovely pint of landlord. Sweet with a little caramel. Really enjoyed this one. |
Rooster's - Wild Mule | 3.90 | | Hazy, amber colour. Grassy/hoppy flavour with a hint of frutiness. Quite good. |
Ringwood - Old Thumper (now superseded by 5.1% version - separate entry) | 5.60 | | Not a great pint of this, the Old Thumper normally tastes funny in here and I'm not sure why. |
Ramsgate Brewery (Gadds') - Seasider | 4.30 | Not Tried

Eagle (formerly Wells & Young's, formerly Charles Wells, formerly Wells) - Wells Bombardier (now superseded by 4.1% version) | 4.30 | Not Tried

Absolutely dead, hugely disappointing considering it was St Georges Day.
Wadworth - St. George & the Dragon | 4.50 | | I don't know what possessed me to try this. Wasn't very nice, biscuity with a lot of bitterness. Meh. |

16 Apr 2008 (Blair)
Fairly busy, good vibrant atmosphere. This pub is really growing on me.
Dark Star - IPA | 6.20 | | A stunning IPA. Fruity and hoppy, I'm not usually a fan of IPA's but if I find more like this I'll easily be converted. |
Vale - Gravitas | 4.80 | | I was expecting a dark beer for some reason. However, this was a very pleasant, fruity golden ale. This one would go down really well on a summers day. |
Hopdaemon - Cuckoo | 3.80 | | For it's strength it manages to cram a lot of flavour in. Very malty, and pretty tasty too. |
Ringwood - Old Thumper (now superseded by 5.1% version - separate entry) | 5.60 | Not Tried
Highgate - Fox's Nob | 4.40 | Not Tried
