Came to congratulate Chris on his first entry bro the gbg. He was behind the bar and said thanks it's about time. Well that's what I thought e said but with a mask on he could have said anything. Anyway, he seemed grateful before he went off to do another 20 jobs at once. Too many national beers on, but found old peculiar hiding upstairs.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Greene King - Abbot5.00ExcellentNot much on so tried an abbot. But it doesn't get better than this.
Theakston - Old Peculier5.60ExcellentHidden upstairs. £1.49 with a voucher made this superb value.

After 6 weeks in Tenerife trying to avoid quarantine and 2 weeks in Quarantine awaiting checks that never came, it was back to the pub for my first real ale in several months.

Late morning visit whilst waiting for the 12:00 openers to open. Already busy on both levels, strict COVID precautions being taken here with staff insisting that people complete track/trace forms. The upper level was table service only using the Wetherspoon App. We had vouchers to spend so we stayed on the ground floor and ordered at the bar.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Shepherd Neame - Bishops Finger5.00GoodA very good start to the day.
17 Aug 2020 (Magnus Greel)
Lunchtime a short wait in the queue to get in, track and trace details given then free to find somewhere to sit. I've only listed what I drank upon my first visit to Wetherspoons flagship pub. Lucky me!

On two levels with a bar with 12 handpumps at ground level and another on the 1st floor balcony with 6 handpumps. Open-to-view kitchen on the ground floor. There is a ground floor rear patio and an upstairs outside covered decking area for fair weather drinking and sea and sand views. Re-opened Saturday 7th December 2024 after a 3 week closure refurbishment.
