BeerABVScoreNotes
Brunswick - Caramild3.50ExcellentVery traditional ruby/brown Midlands style mild with a caramel biscuit flavour and no hops detectable. My score 16/20.
30 Apr 2012 (Philip Pirrip)
Like the Mary Celeste - never known it so empty at 2030 hours. The Barclays Premier League big Manchester derby must have been at fault.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Timothy Taylor - Landlord4.30GoodHad to try this as had received varied reports about present day Landlord. Seemed rather sweet

Mid Friday afternoon visit and getting busier.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Brunswick - Grimwald's Damson Stout4.80ExcellentFull bodied stout with a sweet fruity flavour to counterbalance the dark malts. Lingering fruity finish. My score 16/20.
Coastal - XL Stout5.30AcceptableVery bitter stout with a dry roast malt character and also high hop bitterness. Very dry and bitter finish. My score 14/20.

BeerABVScoreNotes
Sadler's (see also Windsor Castle entry) - Hippo4.50GoodDark brown strong bitter with roast malt and spicy hop flavours. Dryish, roasty finish. My score 15/20.
Toll End - Retribution5.40AcceptableStyle is of a strong black country mild, amber in colour with soft hoppiness and biscuity malt. Unfortunately this sample had a slight phenolic bitterness to those flavours. My score 12/20.

Fabulous pub with a rela mix of people. Nice to see many of the staff from the Burton Bridge estate chillin g out there
BeerABVScoreNotes
Brunswick - Triple Hop4.00ExceptionalWOW! Not given too many 5 stars but I don't think I have - ever - tasted a beer as hoppy as this. Light, with a truly wonderous hoppy and slightly sulphorous nose, the hops smack you as soon as you sip the beer through the sip and right to the finish. Truly, a wonderous pint. Reminds me back to the days of the real snatch burton beers
Brunswick - White Feather3.60ExcellentA very nice if very so slightly dilute version of the Triple Hop.

The pub is found in Derby, Derbyshire, DE1 2RU.

Lovely pub that was part of the original Midland Railway village. Flat iron building 5 minutes walk from Derby railway station. Multiple rooms. Real red leather seats. Brewery at rear with lots of railway and pub memorabilia on walls. Home of the Brunswick Brewery which is managed separately from the pub. A long standing licensee here retired in early 2013. Real ale price discount for card carrying CAMRA members. 16 handpumps in total in banks of 6, 5 & 5. The two banks of 5 have (at Spring 2014) been fitted with dual outlet nozzles for each pump - 1 with a swan's neck and sparkler and the other with a straight tap with a screw fitting for an optional sparkler. The units were manufactured by CFBS (Colin Farrar Brewery Services of Keighley). There are also 3 handpumps in the upstairs function room.

We have visited this pub 39 times, seen 151 different beers and tried 34 of them.
