Oakham - JHB | 3.80 | Slight haze, but perfect grassy aroma, lovely tangerine and grapefruit flavours. Fresh as hell. Ended up drinking 4 pints of this and each time I was stunned at the drinkability. Couldn't fault it each time. Made me realise why this was the beer that got me into micro breweries.
Oakham - Attila | 7.50 | Brilliant. The flavours were more on the tangerine marmalade side. Full and warming and inviting. Even got non beer drinkers to enjoy it. A 2/3rds mix of Attila to 1/3 JHB worked even better.
Oakham - Bishops Farewell | 4.60 | A little ascetic on aroma and a little ascetic on the finish. Bit in middle is fine but ultimately disappointing. A little tight in the mouth too, needs a day to open up. Always harsh on beers in the brewery tap
Oakham - Inferno | 4.00 | Never really got this beer. Brilliant clear gold, always been a bit acidic for me. Its alright but its no JHB or White Dwarf. Fuller in the mouth than when I have had it before. Still some sharp acidic hop on finish. Great condition though.
Oakham - Red Neck | 5.20 | Amber copper colour with lasting beige head. Some diacetyl on aroma and some hop. Reasonable malt in mouth. Then good earthy hops on finish. Fullish malts in mouth that is sweetish. Then some very good APA style hops on finish. Take the diacetyl out and it would be an ok APA.

The pub is found in Peterborough, Cambridgeshire, PE1 2AA.
In Westgate. One of two Oakham tied pubs in the city and for any beer lover, this is nothing less than a pilgrimage. Sited next to the brewery, it has 15 handpumps (in banks of 4, 4 and 7) selling Oakham beers, guests and ciders, a 1 a.m. licence and a Thai kitchen. Superb. One can order four pint jugs or multiple pint take outs to drink at home. Up to 4 guest beers are also served. Split level pub with plenty of seating upstairs. Both the brewery and the kitchen can be seen through plate glass windows. For this contributor (Ian), this is absolute heaven. Always under threat of re-development for a future shopping proposition. Strong local following is always defending from this possible act of vandalism. CAMRA discount on real ales for card carrying members.
We have visited this pub 24 times, seen 43 different beers and tried 18 of them.
