Always dependable, and always busy. The Market Porter has a wonderful range of beers, and is a pleasure to drink in (or outside)!! Pleasant staff that know thier beer.
Meantime - London Pale Ale | 4.30 | | Bitter, dry and fruity, LPA is one for fans of US-style Pales. Long and refreshing on a summer's day, straw in colour. |
Bays - Best | 3.70 | | Traditional best but with a subtle fruitiness in the body. Very nice, and very easy to drink. |

Blindmans - Summer Breeze | 4.20 | | Well balanced copper coloured bitter. My score 15/20. |

Pictish - Chinook | 4.90 | | Superb hoppy character from one of my favourite USA hops. Juicy fruitiness with a very long finish that went with me on the 40 minute train ride home! My score 16/20 |
Idle - Idle Dog | 4.20 | | Malty, rather bland chestnut coloured beer with little hopping. My score 13/20. |

Moorhouse's - Black Panther | 4.80 | | Welcome, but rare appearance for Black Cat's big brother. This is a beefed up version, with a smooth, rich malty taste and a hint of tangy fruitiness. My score 16/20. |
Hanlons (formerly O'Hanlon's) - Stormstay | 5.00 | | Quite vineous and fruity with a hint of hoppiness. My score 14/20. |

Salopian - Prohibition | 4.60 | | Excellent citrus hop character and good malty balance. My score 16/20. |
Arbor Ales - Sun Kiss | 4.00 | | Initial burst of hoppiness then a well balanced, full bodied and quite citrussy taste to finish. My score 16/20. |
Pictish - Little Gem | 4.50 | | Excellent hop character and some citrus taste. Good body and depth of flavour. My score 16/20. |
Old Bear - Yorkshire Ale | 4.20 | | Reasonable traditional bitter. My score 14/20. |
Inveralmond - Homecoming Scotland | 4.20 | | Golden ale with a mainly bitter malt character. My score 14/20. |

Very busy for a Tuesday night with the pavement outside and pub inside full to capacity mid evening.
Potbelly - Teck' It To Ride | 4.50 | | Hoppy and fairly sweet with a good malt balance. My score 15/20. |
Salamander - Mangel Wurzel | 4.00 | | Citrus hop and a clean tasting finish to this pale beer. My score 15/20. |

Brentwood - Chockwork Orange | 6.50 | | Dark brown stout-like beer with full bodied chocolate malt taste and a hint of citrus orange. Long bitter finish. My score 16/20 |
Rooster's - Elderflower | 3.70 | | Light and flowery with a good citrus hop kick. Very refreshing on a hot summer's day. My score 15/20. |
