Surprisingly quiet. Disappointing to see fellow drinkers hadn't cleared the fantastic Sublime Stout.

Buzz of conversation. Both beers were served too cold.

| Fyne - Sublime Stout | 6.80 | | Sparkling dark ruby with tight dark beige head it looked great. Some hops and fruit on the nose leads to well proportioned flavours. Some fruit, hints of chocolate and liquorice against an top quality malt base. Satisfying long finish. Would have deserved 5* if served warmer. Had to wait 15 minutes for the beer to warm and its true quality appear. |

Lots of snow outside but warm and welcoming at the bar.

| Kelburn - Ca'Canny | 5.20 | | New cask of the mid-brown strong ale. Aroma and flavour dominated by coffee - no subtle flavours here. Very dry. |
| Deeside - Macbeth | 4.10 | | Surprising hints of a gueuze on the nose - almost as if they'd used a brettanomyce yeast - carried through to the limited flavour and a slightly harsh mouthfeel and finish. |

Very busy and almost entirely with drinkers. Buzz of conversation filled the place. Just how a pub should be.

Free house enjoying a fantastic harbour side location in Stonehaven's conservation area in Shorehead. 5 or 6 real ales, with an emphasis on Scottish micros. Excellent selection of bottled beers especially from Belgium plus interesting kegs which may be from Westmalle, Kwak or De Koninck. 2009 CAMRA Scottish Pub of the Year.
