Quiet on a Wednesday evening. Some people in the restaurant but the bar was empty save for a couple with their dog and myself. 2 beers on both from Goacher's
Goacher's - Special House Ale | 3.80 | | Badged as Dering Ale. Deep copper, lasting white head. Extremely malty and hoppy. Orange/tangerine fruit, somewhat like candied fruit with smack of bitter hops on end. One of the best pints of this that I've had in a time. Seems to have more of the fine light ale about it than the dark. Distinctive Goacher's aroma and just slightly acidic in the mouth |
Goacher's - Gold Star | 5.10 | Not Tried

Fairly quite on a Tuesday night. Well I say quiet. What I mean is that there weren't very many people in because those who were weren't quiet. The clientel of this pub seem to be loud, middle aged, middle class men and they somewhat spoil what could be an oasis of peace.
Goacher's - Special House Ale | 3.80 | | Badged as Deering Ale. It had that deep malty hoppyness that I'd expect from Goachers Special with a malty sweet hoppy aftertaste. Slightly tired but still very nice. |
Goacher's - Gold Star | 5.10 | Not Tried

Lovely pub bar at one end of a hunting lodge that also has a restaurant and does B&B. Only serves Goachers beers. Very atmospheric with large real open fire place and stone flagged floors
Goacher's - Special House Ale | 3.80 | | Badged as Dering Ale, it was ok but not at its malty hoppy best |
Goacher's - Gold Star | 5.10 | | Unfortunately I don't think that they get through too much of this so it tends to hang around for a bit. This one was clearly off |

Excellent stone former hunting lodge. The bar is on the left with the restaurant on the right. Serves 2 Goachers beers. Not a really busy evening, with some good banter at the bar and swift service which was welcome. Good place for a quiet pint anytime
Goacher's - Gold Star | 5.10 | | If it wasn't for the fact that this is over 5% I could drink this all night. Golden, creamy, hoppy and extremely drinkable. It made me forget to pick my bike up from the side of the pub and I went straight home on the train. Oh dear. |
Goacher's - Special House Ale | 3.80 | | Not at its pinnacle but still a good malty session beer with a dry hoppy finish. Malts dominate throughout though |

Bit quiet in the bar on Easter Saturday evening, but restaurant was busy in this stone hunting lodge. Back bar was cosy with its sofas and comfy chairs. Service at bar can be slow on busy nights
Goacher's - Special House Ale | 3.80 | | Badged as Dering Ale, this golden malty beer was at the top of its form tonight |
Goacher's - Gold Star | 5.10 | Not Tried

The atmosphere in this pub was excellent, sat in the back room on the comfy leather sofas enjoying the Goachers' beers on a busy Friday night
Goacher's - Gold Star | 5.10 | | Strong golden bitter. Hoppier than most Goachers beer. This evening it was very good indeed |
Goacher's - Special House Ale | 3.80 | | As per usual extremely good malty flavour |
Goacher's - 1066 Old Ale | 6.70 | Not Tried
11 Jan 2005 (Ian)
Fairly quiet for a Tuesday in January. 3 Goachers beers on, Dering Ale (Goacher's Special), Gold Star and 1066 Old Ale
Goacher's - Special House Ale | 3.80 | | Good malty body with many flavours |
Goacher's - Gold Star | 5.10 | | Needed to change the barrel |
Goacher's - 1066 Old Ale | 6.70 | Not Tried
24 Dec 2004 (Ian)
Quiet on a Christmas Eve lunchtime. 3 beers on all from Goachers. Special under the Dering Ale badge, Goldstar and 1066 Old Ale. Excellent pub with an interesting interior, perfect for a winter's day
Goacher's - Special House Ale | 3.80 | | Excellent blend of malt flavours with some hoppiness to balance |
Goacher's - Gold Star | 5.10 | | Back to its golden hoppy malty best |
Goacher's - 1066 Old Ale | 6.70 | | Not as good as the last time I visited |
24 Dec 2004 (Andrew)
Lunch time session in the Deering on Christmas Eve. Very busy with lots of people eating.
Goacher's - Special House Ale | 3.80 | | As always a loverly pint |
Goacher's - Gold Star | 5.10 | | Slighly weaker taste than usual but still good |
Goacher's - 1066 Old Ale | 6.70 | | Like engine oil. Good goacher's taste but too strong from me |
17 Dec 2004 (Ian)
Wonderful pub for a winter's evening. Candlelight, real fire, flagstone floor and 3 Goacher's beers on, Dering Ale, Gold Star and 1066 Old Ale. Although service can be slow on a busy evening in the restaurant, this is still one of the best pubs in Kent
Goacher's - 1066 Old Ale | 6.70 | | Perfect mix of burnt caramel and fruity malt balance the high alcohol level of this winter warmer |
Goacher's - Special House Ale | 3.80 | | Badged as Dering Ale, this is an excellent mid brown session beer with tasty malt and some bitterness on the end |
Goacher's - Gold Star | 5.10 | | Not up to its normal standard |
