About 3pm, only a few in and Bert playing up.
Hopdaemon - Dominator | 5.10 | | This was served lager-cold, but Dominator in a Shep's pub, you can't really complain! Excellent, once it warmed up a bit, malty, a bit low on fruit, alcoholic warmth, not too syrupy as it can be sometimes. |

Highly entertaining comic duo barmen with only 30 mins to go on their shift. Sat at bar and giggled softly into my half pint.
Shepherd Neame - Spooks Ale | 4.70 | | After reading Kentish Al's reviews of this beer, I went looking for it and found it. mid to light brown colour with thin beige head. Slight toffeeish aroma. Only some sheps yeast flavour. Quite malty. Its not in best nick. Only cask they have. Some fruit like the late red but finish is sharper. Almost no condition but the flavour is ok. And has some decent bite on the finish. Has the best character of a sheps veer i have had for some time. Surprisingly decent |

It's been a good couple of years since I was last in here and it does seem a little better than when Youngs had the place. Sat in the beer garden and reminisced on how much we miss Simple Simons. Ah well this is still a good pub.
Shepherd Neame - Late Red | 4.50 | | This beer can be lovely but this one seemed a little tired, overly cloying and not as good as previous years. Hadn't had a beer in a while so it still went down a treat. |

Hopdaemon - Green Daemon | 5.00 | Not Tried | |

Busy with diners on a Saturday afternoon but got a table to enjoy my beer with no problem. Good range of Shep's beer on tap.
Shepherd Neame - Double Stout (superseded by 4% version) | 4.30 | | A good roasty, black stout with dark chocolate and coffee flavours present. Finish is dryish and roasty. My score 16/20. |

This pub has gained a parrot and lost it's mojo! SN owned, not a guest in sight even Bert seemed subdued. Only a few in but it was about 3ish.
Shepherd Neame - Early Bird | 4.30 | | Bit sulphourous on the nose. OK, clean and fresh taste. Slight bitterness, but overwhelming sulphour. |

Ah the Parrot. Not sure what I mean by that as it's a fairly new pub now it's changed hands again. Nothing's changed really other than the beer line up.
Shepherd Neame - Delta | 4.50 | | Very drinkable. Dark, malty, hint of sweetness and sharpness with some nuttyness to it. Bit like a combination of Late Red and Kent's Best. |

Hidden away round the back streets this pub has a cosy, country village atmosphere to it. Shame the previous owners decommissioned the 2 log fires.
Shepherd Neame - Bishops Finger | 5.00 | | My eyes lit up when I saw this on and I wasn't disappointed - strong, fruity beer with a hint of liquorice. |

Early Friday evening. Quite a few in, mixture of freshers week students and people who'd finished work for the week. Tip : if Bert starts getting on your nerves with his telephone impressions give him a mini cheddar as it shuts him up for a bit.
Hook Norton - Copper Ale | 4.80 | | A guest in a Sheps pub and an excellent one at that. Copper colour (obviously), bubbly white head, smells right (if you know what I mean), excellent balance between plummy fruit and malt and good sting in the finish. Perfectly balanced beer and very well served. |
