Mid afternoon.I sat on the verandah with my Larkins and wondered about a Landrover that either was adorned with a wedding favour, or had been in the hedge.

Late afternoon after a busy day.I sat vacantly in the verandah.

Larkins - Traditional3.40ExcellentAt first I wasn't too sure:seems much hoppier than last time, but then a burst of summer herbs. Different, less toffee, but still Larkins.

Saturday early afternoon.Still quite busy. Cricket on the green and good Kent and Sussex beers:archetypal pub.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Dark Star - Hophead was 3.8% (some has also been brewed by Fuller's)3.40ExcellentDunno if they've changed the recipe:this tasted more tropically fruity than I remember, and a notch less tooth raspingly astringent. Perhaps more to my taste!

Evening - surprisingly full - we were asked if we were here to sing as we entered - no we came for the beer and wine. After ordering we found out that it was a "beer and hymns" evening - no place for atheists so we downed our drinks and left to the cringing tones of "To be a pilgrim". I thought they had special buildings for this sort of music?
