2nd Thursday bus-pass outing for 8 of us from Canterbury. Just 3 other punters during our session. All of the beers were in good condition - but I had a very heavy cold and really couldn’t discern any flavours to note.

McCanns (used to use Angels and Demons name as well) - Janet Street Green Hop Porter4.50AcceptableTold that this was a strong beer. It was for this micro. I didnt enjoy this. Lacking flavour and that porter taste and feel but it had the colour.

Early lunchtime- just me in for a while. Good chat with the guvnors who told some horror stories of some of the local objectors that made their life difficult in the early days of the pub.

Mid afternoon- just one other customer. I got fish and chips delivered from the chippy over the road and was provided with cutlery and sauces by the pub. Nice. Third beer on called Brickworks Bitter at 3.9 but I the brewery name was smudged on the board.

Humpty Dumpty - Branch Line Bitter3.90Good
XT Brewing - Animal Brewing Skunk4.60GoodFull bodied copper ale.

Early lunchtime. Just myself and a chap who introduced himself as “dark side Dave”. Ex-landlord from Margate who now helps out in the Hovelling Boat. Good chat, mainly about micros.

Visiting a garden in Minster and thought it would be rude not to pop in. Felt like an old-fashioned Sunday pub lunchtime - free roasties and vary busy with drinkers. A friendly welcome, nice. Unusual beer selection - none of the three on were previously recorded on this site.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Rudgate - Brobek Mountain4.00AcceptableRather too sweet and malty for my taste.

Lunchtime - kindly agreed to open at 11:45 for our group of 7. We stayed for a good 2 hours, sampling all 5 ales between us and had a very good fish and chip lunch from the chippy opposite. Couple of locals in as well. Very pleasant.
