I'd been meaning to get to this pub for years, unfortunately I always seem to come to London at the weekend, when this pub is closed. It is really strange to have a historic pub like this in the area it's in. Really busy, we managed to bag a couple of stools and got in peoples way. I'll definitely be back.

Caledonian - Elf Esteem4.00AcceptableMy first mouthful was almost overpoweringly sweet, but then i adjusted to it and it grew on me a little. I'd like to try it again but first impression is a bit so-so.

What a great pub but what a difficult one to find - I had to ask a security guard on a near by road. I only had 10 minutes before I had to get back to a presentation. The locals (and they were locals because they knew the staff by name) were friendly and helped me get served. I'll say it again; what a great pub.

Friendly knowledgeable service in an old (16th C) pub, small wood panelled rooms off the main bars and a function room upstairs - Will visit again.

Possibly my new favourite London pub. Snug in the lounge is called Ye Closet. Toasted sandwiches at £1.50. Mid Friday PM, moderate number of regulrs in, but just a perfect pub. Dark wood panelling in wonderful, plus wooden seats lining the walls. Staff take pride in their job.

Timothy Taylor - Boltmaker (formerly Best Bitter)4.00AcceptableAmber with thin lasting beige. Yeasty, tasty best bitter. Simple but effective.
