Early on a Saturday afternoon. I had a good chat with Steve the guv.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Old Dairy (being contract brewed after it closed) - Summer Haze4.30GoodNot really my kind of beer but nothing wrong with the way it was kept or served. Hazy and far too much of a grapefruit flavour for me. I like grapefruit but I don't want my beer to taste like it.

Afternoon visit. Some good banter.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Marble - Pint (was 3.9%)3.40GoodNo head so a full pint. A good pint of Pint.
25 Jul 2020 (Magnus Greel)
I liked the new layout with the bar moved to a more central location and replaced by two seating bays alongside the window made for a better experience. The beer was very good so we stayed for a few more than anticipated.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Redemption - Hopspur4.50ExcellentDry smoky yet slightly malty served at a perfect temperature.

Saturday lunchtime, I met Magnus here for a fair number of pints. Steve informed us that cask sales have increased in popularity here.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Redemption - Hopspur4.50ExcellentIn very good condition.

Early Saturday afternoon on a very hot day. I sat in the back bar because it was cool in there, I had a good conversation with a girl who normally works as cabin crew for a long haul airline but is currently working for test and trace so I hope I do not get a telephone call from her on her 0300 number.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Siren Craft - Suspended in Cascade4.00GoodIn condition but not to my taste and horribly hazy as the pump clip warned me it would be.
11 Jul 2020 (ChrisE)
Early Saturday afternoon, this place has changed a lot since my last visit, the bar is now at right angles to what it was and a handpump has been installed. There are a couple of nice drinking booths by the window and I was allocated one of these when I entered. Each seating area is currently protected by a perspex screen from the adjacent one, table service is in operation and you settle your bill when you leave. Just two other customers at the time of my visit.

Afternoon visit and fairly quiet. A beer delivery of key kegs and polykegs was made, I had never heard of polykegs before.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Thornbridge / Thornbridge Hall - Astryd3.80AcceptableI am not really keen on these hazy ales.
19 Feb 2020 (ChrisE)
No cask ale tonight so I settled for a half of Wild Beer Co. Millionaire from keg dispense. I had a good chat with Steve who informed me that this pub will closing from 20 March 2020 for five days for an internal refit.

No cask available today as the one pin that they have was only delivered this morning. Another customer recommended some keg stuff that she was drinking but I thought it was horrible. I tried a keg stout which was much more to my taste.

Friday afternoon and a new face behind the bar as Steve is on his honeymoon. A good discussion about Camra and craft beers.

The pub is found in Ashford, Kent, TN23 1JJ.

This pub opened on 27 July 2018 in a former music shop in New Rents. There is seating in the bar area and a separate room to the rear plus a patio area at the back of the pub. Originally all beers were sourced from local breweries and dispensed by gravity from a stillage behind the bar but since then 10 keg lines have been added too and supply may be from outside the local area. A refurbishment took place during March 2020 and beer is now served through a handpump. Refurbishment during 2021 added further lines so now offering 23 beers on KeyKeg/keg, one cask beer on handpump and half a dozen ciders. Card payment only, no cash. Since autumn 2021 there was a second pub in this chain, in Maidstone which subsequently closed. Closed in May 2023 citing lack of viability. Re-opened 2024 with new name but seemingly as a keg house.

We have visited this pub 60 times, seen 56 different beers and tried 47 of them.
