Came in around lunchtime. Fairly busy, had a few pints and played some pool. I love this pub.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Ramsgate Brewery (Gadds') - Rye Pale Ale4.00GoodNot a bad beer but probably my least favourite of the Gadds' range. Light with a nice straw flavour, quite harsh at the end though.

Pretty quiet with just a few sat at the bar. There were two dogs entertaining us all. It was more fun than it sounds...
BeerABVScoreNotes
Oakham - Bishops Farewell4.60ExcellentLovely, this is a fantastic beer! Light and crisp, very hoppy with a nice citrussy twist as well.
Dark Star - Hophead (some has also been brewed by Fuller's)3.80ExcellentLight hoppy ale with a certain grassieness to it. Lovely as always.
Archers - Crystal Clear5.00PoorRidiculously sweet and funnily enough rather cloudy. Not a good beer, very cloying.

Fair few people in, really friendly atmosphere. Need to come here more, it's the closest decent pub to me. I have no excuses.

Dark Star - Summer Solstice4.20ExceptionalI was gasping for a pint after a long walk in the sun, this was perfect. Light, hoppy, smooth and refreshing. I don't see how there can be a better summer ale out there.
Adnams - Regatta4.30AcceptableAlrightish pint, malty with a stranger cider-like flavour to it. Wouldn't drink it again, but you've got to try these things.

I caught the train to Broadstairs and then walked 20 minutes to the pub. There's a public bar and a saloon and the beers are split between them. If you want to know what's on (without having to ask) there's a list of the beers in the window before you come in. Interesting pub; quite 1970's inside. The staff and locals were all friendly and I was even offered a roast potato.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Grand Union - IPA5.30ExcellentGolden, well ballanced with a rich and citrus hop to it. I shall miss this brewery when it closes in the very near future.
