Visits Details
14 Sep 2013 (Philip Pirrip)
Evening. Remiss of me not to have visited for 3 months. Guv Ray is as enthusiastic (no - even more enthusiastic) as ever.
Hammerpot - HPA | 4.10 | | |
Triple fff - Elder Skelter | 3.70
Loddon - Gravesend Shrimpers Bitter | 4.10 | Not Tried
12 Jul 2013 (Stephen Harris)
An excellent little pub. Very busy in the early evening and one way or another I seemed to know most of the people here – either having a pre-match pint before seeing Leyton Orient play up the road at Welling United, or popping in after visiting the busy beer festival over the road at the Guy, Earl of Warwick (for which I did not have sufficient time).
Kent - Bramling Cross Single Hop | 4.50 | | Hoppy, golden pint with some summer fruit tastes. |
Salisbury - English Ale | 4.10 | | Dark copper-coloured, traditional bitter. |
Teignworthy - Spring Tide | 4.30 | Not Tried
Kent - Black Gold | 4.00 | Not Tried | Ran out. |
06 Jun 2013 (Philip Pirrip)
Late afternoon on the D-Day date. A small cabal of contributors to this site all in one place - recipe for noise and confusion. The Guv Ray neither kicked us out nor banned us so guess we behaved sufficiently.
Okell's - IPA (or Dr Okell's IPA) | 4.50
Rudgate - Marston Moor Mongrel's Mumbo Jumbo | 4.10
Loddon - Gravesend Shrimpers Bitter | 4.10 | Not Tried
06 Jun 2013 (HSB)
Late afternoon. We were joined by Philip Pirrip out in daylight. Highly unusual. My first visit here and I liked it a lot. Our group now numbered six and we had an enjoyable time.
Okell's - IPA (or Dr Okell's IPA) | 4.50
Loddon - Gravesend Shrimpers Bitter | 4.10
Marston Moor (brewed at Rudgate) - Mongrel's Mumbo Jumbo | 4.10 | Not Tried
23 Apr 2013 (Oompah)
Excellent real ale only venue , great beer , brilliant landlord and wonderful company . Thoroughly recommend this new venture to everyone , it's traditional and no nonsense - love it !
12 Apr 2013 (Philip Pirrip)
Late afternoon after a local £3 haircut. Lively comings and goings - as if the pub had been in situ for years.
Ramsgate Brewery (Gadds') - No. 3 | 5.00 | | In fine form |
Highwood - Essex IPA | 3.60 | | Badged here as Canndo brewery from Chelmsford but I think that is the wholesaler's title. More a brownish standard bitter than an IPA - dryish and somewhat malty |
Adnams - Broadside | 4.70 | Not Tried | Sells very well here but not to my palate |
Old Dairy (being contract brewed after it closed) - Copper Top | 4.10 | Not Tried | Just sold out |
06 Apr 2013 (Philip Pirrip)
Evening. A crowd of well oiled Bexley Beer Festival volunteers in situ after an early sell-out there.
Old Dairy (being contract brewed after it closed) - Blue Top | 4.80 | | In first rate condition |
Triple fff - Alton's Pride | 3.80
Adnams - Broadside | 4.70 | Not Tried
26 Mar 2013 (Philip Pirrip)
Evening. This Micropub has bedded in nicely after just 12 days since opening. Local CAMRA enthusiasts discussing their forthcoming branch beer festival.
Old Dairy (being contract brewed after it closed) - Copper Top | 4.10 | | Best Copper Top I have had anywhere - fine condition |
Purity - Pure UBU | 4.50 | | |
Adnams - Broadside | 4.70 | Not Tried
06 Mar 2013 (Philip Pirrip)
Afternoon as passing by and nosing around. This will be the first Micropub in Greater London. Guvnor Ray is working like a trojan to finish off the building and open up perhaps next week. The first beers have been delivered and stand on their ends in waiting a trip to the gravity stillage.
