Arrived at 2130, less than 3 hours after leaving Loughborough, and time for a nightcap!
Thornbridge / Thornbridge Hall - Kipling 5.20 A top class ale and very drinkable. Woodforde's - Wherry 3.80 A nice ale. Caledonian - Mellow Yellow 4.40 Very refreshing. Goffs - White Knight 4.70 Not Tried

Everards (see entries against Joule's & Robinsons whilst its new brewery was being built) - Old Original 5.20 Pleasantly surprised by this rare ale (Tiger is their popular one). Very tasty and very drinkable. Two pints downed. B&T (Banks & Taylor's) - Dragon Slayer 4.50 Ok. Goffs - White Knight 4.70 Very malty taste. Wooden Hand - Cornish Mutiny 4.80 Refreshing.

Late Sunday visit.
Marston's - Wychwood Hobgoblin IPA (was Ruby Beer, was Hobgoblin) 4.50 Could not fault this. Two pints sampled. Nethergate (was Nethergate Growler for a while then name reverted) - Mary's Ruby Mild 4.50 Now this IS a memorable ale? Top class condition tonite. Loddon - Bamboozle Pale Ale 4.80 Very light and refreshing. Springhead - Liberty 3.80 Reasonably good fruity type. Keltek - Magik (superseded by the 4% version) 4.20 Tried two, as per ngiht before, and not memorable!

big place with varied usually younger clientele.Gets super busy fr and sa nights
Springhead - Liberty 3.80 excellent,very light,citrus,but with some body.had same beer next day and was distinctly watery.

Part of the Brenchley House building in Week Street. Large Wetherspoon's pub with 2 levels which opened in April 2002. The Society Rooms takes its name from the efforts of William Shipley, founder the Royal Society of Arts and the Maidstone Society for Promoting Useful Knowledge. Shipley died in 1803, and is buried in Maidstone, and lies in a tomb between All Saints Church and the old Palace. 10 handpumps in 2 banks, each of 5.
